Sponsorship Proposal

Epworth Men's Health Lunch Thursday 9 May 2019 Member's Dining Room, MCG

Topic: Mental health, let's talk about it

INVITATION

2

The Epworth Medical Foundation is pleased to invite you to become a key sponsor of this year's annual Epworth Men's Health Lunch, to be held on Thursday 9 May 2019 in the Member's Dining Room of the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

In addition to being an informative and educational luncheon with associated networking opportunities, the event also enables the foundation to raise much-needed funds to purchase highly advanced medical equipment, foster relevant bench-to-bedside research and fund educational opportunities for staff to learn world's best practice in their fields, all of which helps Epworth to stay at the forefront of patient care in Australia.

Each year the luncheon brings a different health issue to the fore. The topic for this year's event is:

‘Mental health, let's talk about it’

Mental illness is very common among men and women. In fact, one in five (20%) Australians aged 16- 85 experience a mental illness in any year. Common mental illnesses include: anxiety disorders (14%), depressive disorders (6%) and substance use disorders (5%). Furthermore, 54% of people with mental illness do not access any treatment*. Join us for lunch while we uncover some of the hidden issues about mental health and the benefits of acknowledging and addressing the problem.

We are delighted to extend this invitation to you to sponsor this year's Men's Health Lunch. Please find the details of the event outlined on the following pages, together with the various opportunities of engagement and the associated benefits. We do hope you can join us.
