Covid-19 Resurgence Mitigations and our beloved Fall Festival Weekend

Woodhaven Lakes (as a part of Lee County) is located within Region 1 which is under Resurgence Mitigations for Covid-19. With this in mind, several adjustments have been made to Fall Festival in an effort to provide as many of the traditional programs as possible. Hands down, the Fall Season at Woodhaven is certainly the most popular time of the year for property owners. Please note and prepare appropriately this weekend for these key factors:

There will be no food vendors as the Lee County IL Dept. of Public Health has put a two week suspension on the issuing of permits.

There is to be no congregating of more than 25 people at all times, in all areas. Scheduled pro-

grams have been arranged to prevent this from occurring, however, we will need your help.

Masks must be worn at all times while joining us for the activities as there will be several circum-stances when proper social distancing will not be possible.

Please make sure to note the marked locations while waiting in line and maintain proper distanc-ing of your family household from the next group of family members.

It’s forecasted to be a beautiful sunny fall weekend with temperatures pushing through the 70s. Don’t pass up the opportunity to discover the many miles of improved trails that wind their way throughout Woodhaven Lakes…from one piece of heaven to the next. The Journey Never Ends.

Hunters will be checked in while still in their vehicles, at the entrance to the parking lot. Hunters will be directed to one of the three fields that surround the parking lot. To help keep things moving along, hunters will be looking for a color-marked pumpkin, one of seven different colors that will be assigned at check-in. Campfire with Brian Fox Ellis: Black Hawk’s View of Illinois History Sunday 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Stories and song around the campfire about Blackhawk! Program venue will be limited to 25 guests in the core area and seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Chairs will not be available, so please bring your own chairs and blankets. Social distancing will be required. Same program each time. Storyteller and historian Brian “Fox” Ellis brings the audience on a journey back in time through Black Hawk’s history. Two-thirds of the show is drawn directly from Black Hawk’s Autobiography. Weaving true history with folklore to create a tapestry of symbolic language he draws the audience into the world view of this respected leader of his people. There are traditional chants and drumming songs, including a chance for the audience to participate in a few social dances, celebrate the First Nations of Illinois, and see the world through Native eyes.

The Nature Center will be open on Saturdays in October and continue our weekly free take-home crafts and more!

Due to current changes in state guidelines for our region, the Nature Center and Bait Shop will require face coverings to be worn for entry. We will also be limiting the number of guests allowed inside at any one time. Staff will give details on entry into either side of the building and there may be short waits for entry. We ask that everyone be respectful of all others during this time and have a great weekend!

Due to IL Phase 4 guidelines the Nature Center will require the following Special Procedures:• Please observe 6-foot social distancing from any non-family member• Children under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult• Face masks should be worn at all times inside • Entry into the Nature Center will be through the front door only and

exiting through the screen porch. There is a one-way traffic flow through the facility

• At this time, based on the social distance requirements and size of the building and guidelines, admittance is limited to 10 people

• If there is a waiting line of guests outside the Nature Center, time inside will be limited to allow all guests a chance to visit.

Just a reminder as you prepare to close your campsite for the winter:

Welcome to Fall Fest Weekend at Woodhaven!

With our Fall Fest Weekend upon us and ushering in the start to the camping season, we would like to issue a few simple reminders to make your weekend relaxing, hassle-free, and much more enjoyable:

• Speed limit is 20 mph throughout Woodhaven and heavily enforced.

• Quiet hours are midnight to 7:00 a.m.• Please keep pets on a leash at all times, even on your

lot.• Pets are restricted from activities, facilities, and events

- including Open Markets.• Don’t leave campfires unattended; have a water source

readily available.• Property Owners are responsible for their guests’

actions, even when the Property Owners are not on property with the guests.

• When walking or riding a bike, use the trails whenever possible to help reduce congestion on the roads. Trails can be used for pedestrian travel between all the major facilities and recreation areas on property. Maps can be picked up at the Association Office. Bicycles on the road should obey all traffic rules; right side of the road and single file; as well as obey traffic signs. Pedestrians Should walk on the left side, against traffic, single file.

• Please note the below items not accepted at our dumpsters. If you have items which are not accepted, please refer to the Restricted Materials Processing article for info on disposal.

• Before beginning any improvement projects on your lot, no matter how minor they may seem, please contact the ESAC Department. The ESAC Department is located at the Association Office and can be reached at 815-849-5209. Many projects do require a permit, which only takes a few minutes to complete and are free. When in doubt, seek ESAC out!

• Smile, wave, and say “Hi” to your neighbors and passersby! Who knows, you just may meet someone new you’ll enjoy sharing a cold drink with for years to come!

If you have any questions, we encourage you to use Woodhaven’s official sources of information, which include:
