ELFER LIFTS IN NEUSTIFTJUST 50M FROM THE HOTELThe Elfer in Neustift is a real paradise for hikers, and it’s right outside our front door. Discover the largest walk-on sundial in the Alps, which is also the starting hub for four hiking trails – the so-called Walk-Time-Paths. Each of the routes, of varying lengths and with melodious names such as “Sun time”, “Blossom time”, “Era of Animals” and “Stone Age”, focuses on different themes: the rhythm of the sun, on vegetation and agriculture, on the Alpine flora and fauna, and on the geological zones of the Elfer massif. Under ideal flying conditions paragliders and hang gliders can regularly be seen launching from here, either solo or tandem, and soaring out over the valley.

STUBAI GLACIERTime to chill out? Walk out on the Stubai glacier, where you can discover plenty of exciting insights and vantage points even in the warm months of summer. A Glacier Path leads across the eternal ice up to the TOP OF TYROL viewing platform, 3,210 metres above sea level, where exciting tours will tell you all about the world of glaciers and the newly opened Ice Grotto will give you an in-depth peek into the interiors of these ice giants.

SCHLICK 2000 HIKING CENTREThe Schlick 2000 hiking centre is home to well-de-signed themed hiking trails, accompanied by in-teresting trivia and legendary tales about the Stu-bai mountains. The diverse network of hiking trails includes the Discover Alpine Plants Path (Alpen-pflanzenlehrpfad), the Panoramic Path (Pano-ramaweg), the Discover Nature Path (Naturlehr-weg), the Experience Stubai Path (Erlebnisweg), and the recently finished Scheibenweg. This un-dulating path, which is suitable for buggies, traces a route on which round discs of wood can be rolled over obstacles and down steep curves towards the valley. That makes it easy for families with children to complete and introduces an extra level of fun and motivation during the hike.

MIEDERS SERLESBAHNENIn addition to riding the Alpine Coaster of the Serles Cable Cars in Mieders, it is also worth tak-ing a hiking trip there. The Source Path (Quellen-weg) leads to one of the highest monasteries in Europe, the Maria Waldrast Monastery. The pic-turesque route through the mountain forests keeps visitors entertained with sagas and anecdotes about how the springs originated. A wonderful pano-ramic view all the way from the Zillertal Alps to the Stubai Alps, from Innsbruck right out to the Zugspitze awaits walkers.

HIGHLIGHTSSEVEN SUMMITS: The highest and most striking peaks of the Stubai Alps make up a group known as the Seven Summits of Stubai. The Zuckerhütl (3,507 m), the Wilde Freiger (3,418 m), the Habicht (3,277 m), the Rinnenspitze (3.003 m), the Serles (2,718 m), the Burgstall (2,611 m) and the Elfer (2,505 m) are all featured on the Seven Summits of Stubai Pass. Depending on how many of the seven summits you manage to climb, you can even receive a special distinction!STUBAIER HÖHENWEG: Conquering peaks can also be perfectly combined with the Stubai High Altitude Path, part of a long-distance hiking trail. The 120 km-long tour involves hiking from one Alpine hut to the next. The WildWaterWay can also be taken on and experienced in several stages. While ushering you through some spec-tacular views, it also boasts an extra health bene-fit in the form of the Grawa Waterfall.
