In any part of the world, there has been a stigma associated with anyoneusing wheelchair or being accompanied by a cane. These people, who aremuch known in the society as people with disability, are frequentlycategorized as futile and incapable.

And are facing dierent kinds of problems from their surroundings !"

Indian team of dierently abled are participating in the international le#elsbut they lacks intended facilities for adapti#e sports in the country. . Therehas to be an adapti#e sports center that takes the accessibility and safety

The creation of a suitable #enue for dierently"abled athletes to practice andtrain is really essential because the Indian athletes ha#e already been competingin the international *aralympic games and this comple- can help them e-cel in

those competitions and bring pride and recognition to the Indians. Thecommunity recognition helps them in attaining bene)ts from the go#ernment.

&cope of the proect is that, it can act as space where people can train

sports and can act as leisure and recreational center. 1hich will help themin attaining self esteem, con)dence, community recognition etc.

The proect is limited to design for disability in mo#ement. (ecause amaority of people with disability are in mo#ement disability category $23.45% as per census of India 2366.

The sports and recreation facilities pro#ided for the users with mo#ementdisabilities only include Athletics, swimming, wheelchair basketball,badminton, chess, boccia, table tennis, powerlifting, archery, #olleyball,cycling and wheelchair tennis. 7nique sports and recreation facilities forpeople with seeing, mental and hearing impairments will not be includedon the the proect.

Among states, 7ttar *radesh has the highest number of people with disability inmo#ement, around 3.? million and then comes :aharashtra $3.=> million%,Andhra *radesh $3.=4 million% and so on.

Among the eight types of disabilities on which data has been collected,disability In mo#ement at 23.45 emerges as the top category. +thers in

It is designed for athletes who ha#e aphysical impairment that pre#ents

running, umping and pi#oting. :en and women play on teams of )#e

players each and the measurements ofthe court and the height of the basketsare the same as in able"bodiedbasketball.

by those with cerebral palsy or relatedneurological conditions in#ol#ing awheelchair.

All e#ents are mi-ed gender and featureindi#idual, pair and team competitions.

The game consists of four rounds inindi#iduals and pairs competitions andof si- rounds in the team competition. Itis played on a hard surface, and the goalis to throw the game balls so that theyland as close as possible to a specialtarget ball, which is called the ack.
