IwouldliketoseedistrictsetafirmpolicyacrosstheschoolsaboutstudentswhoscorelowonMAPsandMSP.Amatrixof"nextsteps"shouldautomaticallybefollowedrequiringadditionaldata(notgrades,theybelieability)andaprogramforinterventionbeitadditionaltutoringorwhat.Iamtiredofhavingdatagounaddressedbecausethereisn'tasysteminplacetoaddresswhatthedataistellingus.
Additionally,studentsin8thgradecaremoreabouttheirtestresultswhentheyknowHSplacementmay/isplacedontheirresults.Ihad10-20kidswantredo'swhentheyfoundthisout.Allbut2didbetteronthesecondround.

Thetestdoesnotneedtobegiven3timesduringtheschoolyear.Themiddledatapointistotallyworthlesstothesystem.Thisyear,theinitialtestingwindowwastooclosetothebeginningofschoolformanystudentstobetrulyinvested,andthefinaltestingwindowwastooearlysoitwasnotafairevaluationoftheentireyear'sprogress.Additionallyconsideringhowmuchcomputerlabtimewelostinadministratingthistestvs.whatcouldhavebeendoneinactualteachercurriculumitis

Ourinfrastructureisdefinitelydeclininginit'sabilitytodealwithMAP&thevolumeofuseoverthecourseofMAPwindows.Wehaveafewfreeze-upsperday.MAP

IhaveheardconflictingthingsaboutwhatEXACTLYtheMAPdatatellsus.IhaveheardthatitisreflectiveofwhatthestudentknowsandalsothatitISN'T.Howmuchimportanceistobeplacedonthisassessment?Also,Iwouldliketoknowhowthedistrictwillusethescoresfortheschoolreportcards/annualreports.Ihadmanystudentswhointhefalltestedoutoftheirgradelevelandtheninthewinterorspringscoredlower,butstillwellabovegradelevel.Thesestudentswerepartofthe'notenoughtypicalgrowth'group.However,theyweretestingoutat9th-11thgrademathskills.Does/Willthisaffectthereportnegativelyifthedataissimplybeingrecorded/reportedfromtheNWEAreports?Ihavebigquestionsabouthowuseful/accessiblethisinfoistoparentsaswell.WhathasthedistrictdonetoinformparentsandmakesurethatALLparentsrecievethesameinformationabouttheseassessments?
