1 Dear SPSM Teacher, Admin Staff Member, Support Staff Member, Parent, Guardian, Supplier, Occasional Visitor, Accidental Internet Search Finder and everybody else. SPSM cannot and will not be everything to everyone. What do we stand for? Our Mission Statement reads as follows: St Peter’s School Mbombela is an English medium, Catholic, independent, co-educational school. The school is founded on the Franciscan principle of Universal Brotherhood/Sisterhood, and it strives to remain relevant to the current trends in education by providing a balanced, holistic education in a caring environment. Whilst the school’s identity is fundamentally Catholic, children from other faiths and cultures are also welcome. Values such as empathy, respect and self-discipline are central to the teaching that goes on at St Peter’s School Mbombela. Pupils are recognised as individuals and taught to think creatively and critically, to analyse and explore situations, to arrive at informed opinions and to continually expand their horizons. The development of self-confidence, understanding, tolerance and adaptation to change is fostered. Pupils are challenged to fulfil their potential in academic, sporting, social, artistic and spiritual spheres within a culture of teamwork and mutual reliance. I would like to invite feedback on summarizing this into a short statement that anybody involved with SPSM could use as a starting point as well as a guide to ensure that we do indeed do as we say. With only a few days left of the 2015 Academic Year, I would like to ask parents to spend time with their children to maximise their wrapping up of the year. Also please settle all outstanding monies owed and make sure your space is secured for 2016. We are in the fortunate position to have a waiting list for space in our classes and contracts of parents not engaging with us will not be renewed. Dear SPSM Teacher, Admin Staff Member, Support Staff Member, Parent, Guardian, Supplier,

Occasional Visitor, Accidental Internet Search Finder and everybody else.

SPSM cannot and will not be everything to everyone. What do we stand for?

Our Mission Statement reads as follows:

St Peter’s School Mbombela is an English medium, Catholic, independent, co-educational school. The

school is founded on the Franciscan principle of Universal Brotherhood/Sisterhood, and it strives to

remain relevant to the current trends in education by providing a balanced, holistic education in a caring

environment. Whilst the school’s identity is fundamentally Catholic, children from other faiths and

cultures are also welcome. Values such as empathy, respect and self-discipline are central to the

teaching that goes on at St Peter’s School Mbombela.

Pupils are recognised as individuals and taught to think creatively and critically, to analyse and explore

situations, to arrive at informed opinions and to continually expand their horizons. The development of

self-confidence, understanding, tolerance and adaptation to change is fostered.

Pupils are challenged to fulfil their potential in academic, sporting, social, artistic and spiritual spheres

within a culture of teamwork and mutual reliance.

I would like to invite feedback on summarizing this into a short statement that anybody involved with

SPSM could use as a starting point as well as a guide to ensure that we do indeed do as we say.

With only a few days left of the 2015 Academic Year, I would like to ask parents to spend time with their

children to maximise their wrapping up of the year. Also please settle all outstanding monies owed and

make sure your space is secured for 2016. We are in the fortunate position to have a waiting list for

space in our classes and contracts of parents not engaging with us will not be renewed.

Infuse your life with action. Don't wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your own future. Make your own hope. Make your own love. PRAYING

As a parent you have a privilege to influence and invest into three important relationships in your child's life. You can either dial in or out: 1. Relationship between your child and you, 2. Relationship between your child and God and 3. Relationship between your child and other people. (Andy Stanley teachings).

A group of parents meet at school every

Wednesday (13:00 – 13:30) to pray together.

Compassion and confidentiality are required. You

are most welcome to join this group of parents.
