DISCIPLESHIP THEMES Our new discipleship theme for 2021 is Connect! We will explore connections
locally, regionally, and globally. As always, our sermon series, adult and youth
studies, social media engagements, reading list, Spotify playlists, service
projects, and calls to action will all reflect this theme and help us to become
better engaged, equipped, and educated disciples.
THE LEARNING CENTER A ministry of Living Word Lutheran Church, The Learning Center seeks to provide
a safe place where children are nurtured and shown God's love. We are committed
to offering the best possible preschool program with Christian faith and values to our
church and community. Our center offers a developmentally appropriate program focusing on growth of the whole child,
physically, socially, emotionally, cognitively, and spiritually. We are thankful to be partners with parents in raising healthy,
happy, well-adjusted and faith-filled children.
TLC enrolls children from 6 weeks of age through 5 years old. We also offer transportation and before-and-after school care
for surrounding elementary schools. For a complete list, or if you have any questions, contact Director Emmy Khan at 281-
392-2273 or [email protected].

Youth Ministry
CONFIRMATION Confirmation is the process of a youth transitioning from childhood to adulthood in the eyes of the church. At Baptism,
parents and godparents make promises on behalf of the child such as to bring them to the Lord’s Table, teach them the 10
Commandments and the Lord’s Prayer, and put scripture in their hands. During Confirmation, 6-8th grade youth learn
about the Bible, Lutheran theology, and how to live life as a disciple. After completing this 3-year journey, they Affirm their
Baptism and claim their Baptismal Promises and Faith Life as their own. Currently Confirmation is virtual. We will connect
each Sunday from 6:00pm-7:30pm via ZOOM.
HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP Although we cannot gather in-person at this time, we can still gather online! All high school students are invited to
participate in a ZOOM meeting Sunday afternoons at 4pm with Mark & Chelsea. We’ll check in with each other, talk about
what’s going on, engage in some Bible study, and end our time together in prayer.
