The library is now accepting BYWAYS submissions. Byways Journal of Arts and Letters is a student publication featuring original creative written work: short fiction, poetry, non-fiction, and drama. It also includes original art work: paintings, sculptures, photography, and metal works. New this year, students can submit music, lyrics, and scores for consideration. All currently enrolled Central Texas College students worldwide can submit their writings and art for publication consideration. Requirements for eligibility are the artist or writer must be enrolled at CTC during the submission period. (October through February). All submissions are due February 23, 2021.

The Byways reception will be held at the Hobby Memorial Library on May 6, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Artists and writers will be there to meet with the audience and discuss their published work. Finalists will be published in the annual Byways Journal of Arts and Letters. All work should be submitted electronically to [email protected]. Artwork - digital photos of your work can be

submitted in any of the JPEG (.jpg) formats. Writing submissions should be in either Rich Text Format (.rtf) or as a Word Document (.doc). Writing Center: NEW! The Writing Center, located in Room 105, offers students a place to focus on

their writing and receive help from a librarian. Services offered include help with brainstorming,

proof reading, grammar, punctuation, and so much more! The Writing Center features writing relat-

ed reference materials, computers, and even two study rooms.
