IMPORTANT NOTES FOR ALL REGISTRANTS

• All registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. • Individuals must use our online system to register. If you have previously registered through our online system, your User ID and Password are already set up. • Your current email must always be on record with the YMCA for your ease in registering and receiving your registration confirmation. • If you need to update your email, please do so prior to the start of registration by contacting Karen DiGiovanni at (908)630-3528 or e-mailing: [email protected]. • If you already have an account set up but have forgotten or misplaced your login and password, you may click “Retrieve Login” and type in your email address. Your login and password will be sent to you via email. • We encourage people to familiarize themselves with the online registration offerings and process prior to registration day. CLASS REFUND/CREDIT POLICY • Requests for a credit of your class fee must be submitted in writing on a Credit Request Form (available at the Welcome Centers) prior to the start of the third week of the program session. • Please note that after Week 2 of the class session, credits will be issued for medical reasons only (requests must be accompanied by a Doctor’s note). Credits are for the rest of the session, not for individual classes. • Credits will be pro-rated based on the number of classes attended. • For details on this policy and how to access your online credit, please go to our website. • Credits or refunds are not given for closings due to weather or emergency situations.

SICK POLICYFor the health of other children and instructors, please do not bring your child to class if they are sick. We maintain theright to send your child home if the child has symptoms of a contagious illness.

SEVERE WEATHER POLICYIn case of inclement weather, individualsare encouraged to call the YMCA at (908)766-7898 ext. 500 for information regarding program cancellations, delayed openings of the facility or closures. You may also receive updates by visiting our website at www.somersethillsymca.org. We will make every effort to remain open. However, we do want to make sure that all our members and staff remain safe during any inclement weather situation andreserve the right to delay our openingor close the facility when deemednecessary. If we choose to delay theopening or close the facility, we will make that decision by 4:00 a.m. Monday-Friday,and by 5:00 a.m. on the weekends. Classes canceled due to weather willnot be made up and credits will not beissued. (Please note ALL POOLS will close in the event of a Thunderstorm)

FRIDAY FAMILY NIGHTSFriday Family Nights are back! Come bring your family andfriends for a night of FUN! THE Y AT YOUR SCHOOL!We are excited to be bringing some of the programs you enjoy at our Y right to your school! Sign up and your child will be brought right from their classroom or after school program to our great activities! All days and times will be available online and distributed in the after care programs. Sessions will be determined by each school’s sched-ule. Available at BEDWELL, BEDMINSTER,and GREEN BROOK sites. - Tumbling This class will work on basic tumbling skills as well as enhance any child’s current skills. - Hip Hop Learn movement and technique in the fun hip hop style that this age group loves! Class is open to first, second and third year hip hop dancers. - Art Learn the basics of all different mediums while learning about the artists who paved the way.

YMCA ADVENTURE GUIDESThis program is for children and their fathers or their male role models. Children must be in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.The purpose of this program is to strengthen the father-child bond. Each month, father-child pairs meet in small groups called “circles” for games, crafts, and refreshments. “Expedition events” are opento all participants of the program and may include campouts,museum overnights, dad/daughter dances, sporting events, and more! The Adventure Guides also sponsor a Food Drive in the falland special evenings such as Santa’s visit to the Y on a firetruck, Disney on Ice and other fun events. Returning member registration will take place May 1-June 1, 2013. All returning members must be registered by September 1st or they will not be able to participate in the fall campouts. New member registration will take place in early September. There will be an Adventure Guides Kick-off Party on September 8th from 1-4pm in the Y Teen Center. Y TRAIL PROGRAMTrail Blazers – fathers and sons grades 4-8thTrail Mates – fathers and daughters grades 4-8thThis is an exciting and challenging program for fathers and their older children. In the fall of 2012, the Trail Mates went horseback riding at East Valley Ranch. While the Trail Blazers went on awinter camp out at Frost Valley, the Trail Mates went for a ski weekend at Sno Mountain in Scranton, PA. This spring the Trail Mates will be camping at Greenkill Retreat Center in Huguenot, NY and the Trail Blazers will be camping at Fairview Lake in Newton, NJ. In addition to these activities, members of the Y Trail Program are invited to participate in some of the open Adventure Guidesactivities such as the Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions.

$25 per person or $50 dad/child

YOUTH PROGRESSIVE CLASSES

TUMBLING AGES 5+YRSTumbling classes include strength conditioning, Tumble Trak, and spring floor. If unsure about placement regarding your child, please schedule an evaluation or speak to a coach. Instructor will have final decision on proper placement levels for all students. Beginner – Tumbling for the novice gymnast and cheerleader. Intermediate – Master cartwheels, power hurdle round-offs, back bends, front and back walkovers, front handsprings and more.

ROLLER AGES 5+YRS (LEVEL I)Children are strongly encouraged to complete beginner tumbling before advancing to this class. This one hour co-ed class includes basic gymnastics instruction on vault, uneven bars, balance beam, Tumble Trak and floor exercise, as well as safety skills. Participants will learn USAG compulsory Level I routines.

SWINGER AGES 5+YRS (LEVEL II)(Instructor recommendation only)This one hour co-ed class is for our students who havemastered the basics including; Vault: squat & straddle on.Uneven bars: pullover & back hip circle. Balance beam:forward and backward rolls. Floor: cartwheel, handstand,forward and backward rolls. Introduction to small connectionsusing low-medium vault, bars, beam and floor will be taught.Participants will learn USAG compulsory Level II routines.

KIPPER AGES 6+YR (LEVEL III)Introduction to advanced connections using high beams, bar,vault, and floor. Students must be able to Vault: handstand;Uneven bars: glide swing, counter swing; Balance beam:cartwheel handstand and learning dismounts;Floor: back walkover, leaps and jumps.Participants will learn USAG compulsory Level III routines.

FLYER AGES 6+YRS (LEVEL IV)(Instructor recommendation only)Introduction to advanced connections using high beams, bar,vault and floor. Students must be able to Vault: handstand;Uneven bars: glide swing, counter swing; Balance beam:cartwheel, handstand, learning dismounts; Floor: backwalkover, leaps and jumps.Participants will learn USAG compulsory Level IV routines.

PRE-TEEN GYMNASTICS AGES 10+YRSFor the older beginner/intermediate gymnast seeking to learn new skills and expand existing ones using: bars, beam, floor, vault and Tumble Trak.

PRESCHOOL PROGRESSIVE CLASSES

TUMBLING TWOS AGES 2-3YRSThis class is for the child who is ready to tumble. Emphasis will beon learning social skills, body awareness, flexibility, safety knowledge and listening skills all while having FUN!

INTRO TO ACRO AGES 3-5YRSDuring this 45 minute class, children are introduced and taughtnumerous acrobatic skills with partners and without. By the end of the year, students will demonstrate a complete routine of tumblingto music.

JUMPER JR. AGES 3-4YRS(Must be 3 before the first class and be potty trained)This is the perfect class for first time participants to spread their wings. Each week class will begin with a group warm-up and stretch, then participants will rotate through 2-3 preschool events withprogression towards new skills. Developing listening skills and safety awareness is a prime goal of this class. Guardian participation isacceptable until the teacher determines otherwise.

JUMPER I AGES 3 ½-4YRSThe perfect next step for our students who have graduated from ourJumper Jr. program and are ready to continue building on the basics they have already mastered. Guardian participation is acceptable until the teacher determines otherwise.

JUMPER II(Must be 4 by first class)This 45 minute class is for our 4 year old Jumper Jr. & Jumper I graduates. Participants must be able to follow circuits, perform basic gymnastics skills, and be ready to work on bridges, cartwheels and handstands.

JUMPER III(Pre-requisite-Jumper II)This 45 minute class is the perfect environment for our 4 year oldparticipants who have already mastered the basics in Jumper II.Students will be introduced to a more challenging gymnasticsenvironment while still having lots of fun.

CHEERLEADINGSomerset Hills YMCA Cheerleading Coaches are USAG Safety Certified,trained to spot stunts appropriately, and experienced in coachingcheerleading and gymnastics. The Cheerleading program follows aprogressive approach (similar to gymnastics) whereby participantsdo not progress to the next level stunt unless having demonstratedproficiency in skills that are appropriate for their age and ability.

If the weather is wet or icy we will hike instead of bike.Grab your bike and join us for scenic bike rides past meadowsand farms, occasionally even “rail trails” or canal paths. A strength/fitness program for cancer patients and survivors based on the curriculum developed by Stanford University. LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a twelve week small group program designed for adult cancer survivors who have become de-conditioned or chronically fatigued from their treatment and/or disease. The program is offered with no cost to the participants. Our goal is to help patients build muscle mass and muscle strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve functional ability. Additional goals include reducing theseverity of therapy side effects, preventing unwanted weightchanges, and improving energy levels and self esteem. A final goal of the program is to assist participants in developing their own physical fitness program so they can continue to practice a healthy lifestyle, not only as part of their recovery, but as a way of life. LIFEGUARD TRAINING COURSE •Minimum age: 15 years by the last day of the class •All participants must pass a pretest which consists of swimming a total of 300 yards (12 lengths of the pool) continuously and retrieving a 10lbs object from a minimum of 7 feet of water and swimming with it on their back for 20 yards. •Fee for the Regular Course will be $350 for members, $380 for non/potential members.

•Refund Policy: Refunds will only be given up through the completion of the pre-test for the course which is designed as the entrance into the course itself.
