Welcome to our 11th annual sale of Value Based Genetics!!! 2010 offered phenomenal profi t

potential for cow /calf and feedlot operations alike. Those profi ts were only realized through

selection for superior seedstock that produce beef economically and effi ciently. Daily I contem-

plate that effi ciency is the key. Small calves that do not grow are just as devastating as big calves

that need to be pulled and keep the cows from breeding back. No amount of carcass premium

will make up for light carcasses or no growth. Carcasses too large, yield grade 4’s, and feeders

of all shapes sizes and colors are huge profi t robbers.

We have spent 31 years committed to producing seedstock that will improve your bottom line ef-

fi ciently. Reports of the All Star, Sweet Meat, Dirty Dog and Rio Bravo sons are that they calve

easily, with a large enough calf to make a profi t, gain or maintain their weight throughout the

Our family has had quite a year, Michelle and Todd closed on their house in Milwaukee,

drove to Boone, IA, closed on their new house at 4 PM and by 9PM we had them moved

in. She started Vet school at Iowa State and Todd started his job transfer two days later.

Steve and Bri announced their engagement for marriage in June of 2012 and I couldn’t

be happier. Bri is awesome and we all love her a lot. Steve received another promotion

with Target headquarters moving into management in December, and Bri received a

promotion working in a bone marrow transplant business.

Lynda received a promotion to District Supervisor for the State of Iowa. She continues

to love her gardening, cooking, canning and playing with her kitty, Bernie and feeding

Chance. I haven’t fi gured out if I was promoted or demoted this year, but I love what I

do and the cattle and people I work with so again we are truly blessed.

As always all of the cattle selling are guaranteed to perform as expected or we’ll fi x it
