Recreation Director’s Message I’m sure we are all looking forward to warm weather and summer vacation after these past few months! Check out some of the programs WARC will be offering this spring and summer! From some great youth sports camps lead by Red Lion High School coaches, to a day devoted to bettering our community, WARC has plenty of programs and events to help you enjoy your spring and summer! We will again be offering our summer day camp which provides exciting games, activities, and field trips to our younger residents. Parents, fill your children’s summer with fun and sun! Sign them up for WARC’s summer day camp!

We would again like to thank our local businesses and organizations for their continued support of the Windsor Area Recreation Commission and its programs. We could not be successful without you! Painting, mulching, trash and debris pick-up, and planting flowers will be among the many things we will be working on this day. Ocean City- Springfest 2018Help Ocean City welcome spring at OC Springfest 2018! Springfest 2018 celebrates spring and the upcoming summer season. It is four dynamic days of delicious food, live entertainment, and unique arts and crafts under four huge big top tents located in the Inlet Lot at the south end of Ocean City’s famous Boardwalk. Springfest serves up a continuous variety of musical performances on two stages. Admission to the event is free! All entertainment is free with the exception of the headline acts.

Register now for WARC’s Summer Day Camp!Counselors keep campers engaged in a range of daily activities including sports, crafts, group activities, indoor and outdoor activities, free time and field trips! Field trip fees and bus transportation are included in the registration cost!All campers must bring a ready-to-eat packed lunch every day. One snack a day will be provided to campers by WARC. Residents of Windsor Township and Windsor Borough pay the resident rate. Parents may enroll a second family member (must be a sibling) and receive $15 off registration fee. The Ultimate Summer Art CampJoin kids with the same interests as you…….. ART…….This camp is loaded with fun and interesting projects for a Summer Art Camp Experi-ence. The mornings are scheduled to do more of the fine arts such as temper painting, watercolor painting, drawing with charcoal, pencil, and pastels while the afternoon covers sculpture using wire, clay, plaster Paris and various methods to create pottery, and fabrics. You can choose a half day or a whole day. There is no down time. Each student will have an independent project to do if they complete their projects ahead of the other kids. Various well known artists’ works are viewed as we begin to explore each new project. We never seem to get all the projects done that are scheduled for the week, but we try. The projects are evaluated and planned for each grade level. These projects are not crafts. Each person is creating their own individualized ideas in art form. Windsor Baseball Game CampFor players who love the game! True to its name, players will show up for open play twice a week for 75 minutes, following a 15 minute “stretch and throw” warm-up. Camp is exclusively coach pitch so players do not need to worry with pitch counts or taxing their arms. Game Camp will allow players to hang out with their friends, play different positions and enjoy America’s Pastime. Players will be divided by age; space is limited to 24 registrants per age group. Participants do not have to be members of the Windsor Baseball program to participate.

‘Next Level’ Baseball CampWindsor Baseball’s ‘Next Level’ Camp is designed for players of varying levels of experience with the game. Next Level Camp differs from aver-age camps as it is organized to assist players in developing the unique skills and abilities they will need to advance to the “next level” of play by providing instruction specific to the player’s experience level. Tee-ball players will focus on skills designed to prepare them for coach pitch and kid pitch baseball; players who played coach pitch will learn skills to help them advance to kid pitch; players who have played on the 46’/60’ fields will be taught skills like taking leads and hitting and running necessary to progress to the 50’/70’ field; players who have played on the 50’/70’ field will focus on more advanced skills necessary to succeed on the full-sized 60’/90’ field. Participants do not have to be members of the Windsor Baseball program to participate.

Red Lion Boys Soccer Camp!The Red Lion Soccer Camp for boys is back for 2018. Coach Watt will be running the camp and coaches will include current and former college and pro players as well as current Red Lion Varsity players. Focus will be on developing technical skills in order to prepare players to play at the next level. Daily focus will be on improving technique in passing, trapping, dribbling and shooting. There will also be a goal-keeper coach to work with goalkeepers for part of each day.

Weed Whackers Field Hockey CampWeed Whackers Field Hockey Program is for Girls ages 8 – 14 (3rd – 8th grade). This fun and instructive program is designed to introduce girls to the sport of Field Hockey and team play. Participants will be divided into groups based on school grade and then experience level. There will be one Red Lion player-coach for each group of 8 - 10 participants to allow for more experience, appropriate instruction and game play. Participants must wear tennis shoes, shin guards, a mouth guard AND bring their own field hockey stick and bottle of water. Balls will be supplied.

WHETHER COST INVOLVED OR NOT.• All programs have a minimum and maximum level of participation, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Programs may be cancelled due to insufficient registrations, inclement weather or other sufficient cause.

• Full payment is due upon registration and can be made payable to “WARC” by check, money order, paid by cash or Discover, Visa or MasterCard credit cards. No space in any program is guaranteed until full payment is received.

• Registration will not be accepted at class locations.• You may call the Recreation Commission to confirm your

registration; otherwise you will not be contacted unless the class or trip has been cancelled.

Registration Deadline• Please register early! Unless noted, the registration deadline

for all classes is one week prior to the start of the first class.• For bus trips, the registration deadline is 30 days

prior to the departure date.• Please note deadlines for all sport activities/leagues. Late

fees will be charged if registering after the deadline date.

Refund Policy• No cash refunds. Refunds will be issued by a WARC

check if paid by cash or check, or refunded on credit card if paid originally by credit card.

• Refunds will be paid in accordance with the Recreation Board Meeting expense schedule -2nd Wednesday of each month.

• There will be a $5 administrative fee for all refund requests.• Full refunds will be issued for programs cancelled by WARC.• No refund will be granted after the start of a

program except in the case of injury or illness. Written documentation from a physician will be required.

• Refunds for trips will only be issued if you find a replacement or if the trip is cancelled by WARC. Please check with us because we may have a waiting list.

• Participants will not receive a refund for mix-up of locations or buildings. Participants are responsible for asking for directions before the course/trip begins if they do not know where the building/location is.
