SQL Server 2012 Express Install Guide

This guide will help walk you through installing SQL Server 2012. This guide assumes you have already

downloaded the installer from Microsoft’s website.

When you first launch the installer, it will go through a few setup processes, but then bring you to this

screen asking you to select whether it is a new install or an upgrade. Since this is a new installation,

select “New SQL Server stand-alone installation”.

It will then run a few more processes before bringing you to this screen. Check ”I Agree”, and select

“Next”.

Select “Next” again at the following screen.

It will then begin downloading and installing setup files.

Afterwards, it will run another process before bringing you to this screen. Select “Next”.

On the Instance Configuration screen, change the Named Instance from SQLExpress to ALDELO. It will

automatically change the Instance ID to match it. Then click “Next”.

On the following screen that appears, select “Next” again.

On the Database Engine Configuration screen, select Mixed Mode. Under the password field, enter a

password and click “Next”.

On the error reporting screen, you can choose to send Microsoft error reports if you want by checking

the bother. Otherwise, leave it unchecked and click “Next”.

It will then begin installing SQL Server 2012 Express with the configurations we have specified.

When the install completes, click on the “Close” button.
