SRI VINAYAKA CHATHURTHI MAHOTHSAVAM

Dear S i r / Madam,

We have great pleasure in informing you that Sri Vinayaka Chaturthi Mahothsavam inyour own Madhya Kailas will be celebrated this year as well from 25'n August to 30*August 2014. As in previous years, the Uthsavam starts on 25'n August 2014 withDwajaarohanam in the morning. On the same day, the Moola Mantra Japam chant ing wi l lcommence after t radi t ional ly arranging 1008 conches. The chant ing of Moola MantraJapam culminates on 28'n August 2Ot4 in performing Moola Mantra Homam in themorning fol lowed by Sahasra Sankabhishekam, direct ly by the devotees, commencing at3.15 pm in the afternoon. Sri Vinayaka Chaturthi will be celebrated on 29'n August 2014with Annadhanam at noon and procession of the Uthsava murthi in the night. Theprogramme chart is enclosed.

As in previous years, the system of performing Sahasra Sankabhishekam, direct ly by thedevotees themselves, wi l l be cont inued this year also.. To perform the abhishekamdirectly by themselves for a block of 10 conches, each devotee is requested to contributeRs.1530/- (Rupees one thousand f ive hundred and thir ty only). These conches, afterabhishekam, can be taken by the devotees, to be kept in their pooja rooms and/or fordistr ibut ion to their near and dear. Al ternat ively, conches used in the abhishekam wi l l begiven to individual devotees on payment of Rs.160/- (Rupees one hundred and Sixtyonly) per conch. In both the cases, the devotees are requested to register 'and makenecessary payment towards block of conches/individul requirernents by not later than'25'n August.2Ot4to enable us to prepare the details and keep them ready to faeilitatesmooth distr ibut ion of the conches.

As in previous years, the conches wi l l be del ivered at the temple premises only and wi l lnot be sent by post. This is purely due to our anxiety to ensure that the conches reach youintact, which otherwise is a risk factor if sent by post. Outstation devotees requiringconches may authorise their representat ives in Chennaito receive the conches,
