FRAMED AUTOGRAPHED PIECE
1. Hutchinson, Horace – Wood framed and matted (3’ x 3’) , 5 page hand written original
manuscript of an article he wrote in “Golf”, March 4th, 1892. The manuscript is framed
with the actual published article. Mr. Hutchinson also signed the manuscript on the final
page in old pen and ink. Mr. Hutchinson was a noted Amateur player of his time and was
runner-up in the 1st Amateur Championship (1885) and winner of the 1886 & 1887

2. SMOOTH GUTTY – A smooth large size unused Gutty, in well preserved excellent
condition, a small flat spot on one pole, apears to have been left on a hot/warm surface at
some point in its history, a extremely rare find for such an early ball. Circa 1850.

3. HAND HAMMERED GUTTY BALL – With appxoximatey 95% original paint, a few minor iron
marks on the ball, otherwise outstanding, the pattern is similar to a Forgan hand
hammered ball, a great early ball, circa 1865 – 1870. Estimated value @ $6,500 Sale

4. MELTED HUNK OF GUTTY PERCHA – Approximately the size of a early gutty ball, round in
shape with knife cut or chisel cut chunks taken from the ball, possibly from an early club
maker/ball maker’s shop. Very interesting, an uncommon, circa 1850 – 1880. Sale

5. EUREKA, THE NEW 27 ½ – 50% Original paint, no iron marks, could very well be unused,
all the lines and wording are deeply cut with no outward apperance that it has been hit, a

29. KNIT PRACTICE BALLS (2) – Circa 1920’s, in good condition, @ $20 each (SOLD Both)

30. FIVES BALL – It’s a British game similar to handball, leather wedge cover, in new unused
condition, although these are about the same size as a feather golf ball and are constantly
being confused as a feather golf ball. A fine example to have in any serious ball collection
to show how the cover and stitch pattern differs fom a actual feather ball. Sale price @

31. FEATHER BALL (Re-Make) – A new feather ball remake made in the 1990’s in Mexico and
distrbuted out of Canada, new condition, this remake was made sinilar to what the old
ball-makers produced, and they are playable and have been used in hickory club
competitions. Sale price @ $125
32. ANOTHER (Remake) FEATHER BALL – This ball was painted and has been used, probably in
a hickory club competition, the ball and stitching are completely in tact, and the paint is
chipped in several area from impact with the club. Sale price @ $100
33. JACK NICKLAUS PERSONAL “MacGregor Tourney, 100, #4” GOLF BALL - This dimple
pattern ball is in near mint condition, it shows slight wear from being hit a couple of times,
and has “JACK NICKLAUS & a “J” under the name in block letters. This ball dates to the
late 60’s or early 70’s when JACK was in his prime, and was from the balls provided to him
by Macgregor and what he used. Sale price @ $150
34. NATIONAL LONG DRIVE CHAMPIONSHIP – In block letter on the side of this 1970’s mint,
no name dimple pattern ball, there are no other logo’s or inscriptions on the ball. Sale

is a 1920’s vintage leather wrap, the condition is good to vg.

57. CHOLE CLUB – The Club with an Iron two face head, one for forward driving and the other
well curver for lofted shots, ash shaft and replaced ruber grip, 38”. Chole or crosse is
considered an ancestor of golf, was played from medieval times throughout Europe in one
form or another, and into the 20th Century in Northern France and Belgium. The condition

81. UNIQUE WOOD PUZZLE OF (51) EARLY GOLF CLUB MAKERS STAMPS – This 7”x 7” puzzle is
cut from the “Birds eye Maple” (9) ply wood sections of the “Queen Mary” Ocean liner.
These original steel stamps are the originals from Scotland. The TOM MORRIS stamp is
from 1849 vintage (St. Andrews). The McEwan Stamp is the last of the families (6)
