Three events give you more accessFollowing the huge success of the Aberdeen and Edinburghevents that launched in 2011 there will be three eventsagain for 2012. The Aberdeen event will take place at the AECC, the Glasgow event takes place at the SECC andthis year the Edinburgh event is moving to the RoyalHighland Centre giving everyone easy coach and minibusaccess.
Ideal for your students making choices, the events areaimed at S4, S5, S6 and above. The events bring together a range of exhibitors: employers, training providers, sector skills councils, universities, charities/voluntary sector organisations and careers and business advisers providingas diverse a range of opportunities as possible. It is anopportunity for everyone to discuss options in a fun,interactive and neutral environment.
The three Skills Scotland 2012 events welcomeschools and colleges from all across Scotland.

Interactivity is theName of the GameSkillsScotland events are interactive and hands-on. They areall about inspiring your young people, the nations youth,about their future careers and opportunities. But how do youexcite thousands of young people about careers when manywill struggle to get a job?
Motivate them.
Organisations recruit enthusiastic candidates, the ones thathave done a bit of research, have clear objectives about what
they want and know where to find out about opportunities.Skills Scotland events motivate young people using activitiesshowcased by employers, colleges, training providers andother organisations.
Activities might include wheel change challenges withstudents studying auto repair, pancake flipping with hotel andhospitality teams, changing a nappy with childcare trainers,building a slate roof with construction lecturers, restyling ahairdo with hairdressing academies, pedalling a dynamo tolight a bulb with energy providers, fitness training withpersonal trainers and lots more.
Skills Scotland events are open to anyone aged 14-19,whatever their ambitions or abilities. The events showcasethe range of opportunities available to young people includingmodern apprenticeships, education, training, employment,internships and other options.
