Our dedicated team is committed to provide emergency support to extremel y poor communities in Cambodia to reduce drop-out rates from public schools and to assist families in becoming economically self -sufficient so they can provide for their own children without having to institutionali ze their chil dr en in orphana ges. Childre n have a right to an education and to grow up with their own fa milies where possible. SSF was registered with the Mi ni st ry of Interi or (MOI ) of the support some girls whom living with extreme poor fami li es to attend public school while their parents are impossible and wanted them to job seeking. SSF uses its effort to aware them until this happening again for them wi th new methodol ogy that thei r group responsible to their invested money own self. SSF is really proud to see positive impact to this village and poorest people can sit down Publisher: SSF Volume 1 Issued: April 15, 2008  Monthly Meeting with Riverkids Children SSF Executive Director met 10 educational sponsored children granted by Riverkids foundation On Saturday 02, February 2007 at SSF office locates in Kampong Speu province. This meeting was focused on how is going on with their education after they attend secondary school more than three months and given them insecticide [SSF gives insecticide to sponsored children every three month]. Almost children, they reported us that their education is still low rank among their classmates because they never get ex tra training at  Teacher's home especially mathematic subject. Teacher gave them an average score and suggested them to learn and pay extra money if they want to be better score. Some of them requested us to support learning extra course on Mathematic at their teacher's home and others promise us to wake up at the early morning and learn by them self to ensure they can pass or not. At the end of meet ing, th ose chil dr en were weight ed and gave insecticide tablets and we plan together to improve hygiene, working as team, assist monks of champatep temple to do something as guidance Monthly meeting with Riverkids Children. I remain, Sincerely Yours,  People in Daun Art village formed a Self Help Group 20 housewives of the poorest of the poor and vulnerable fami lies in Ka mpong Speu pr ovince's Samrong T ong di st ri ct's Sk us commune's Duan Art village joined together forming a Self Help Group in their village and invested 10000 Riel (about USD2.5) each member, according a consultative meeting facilitated by SSF staff on February 10, 2008. At the beginning, this group is having a look each other to find someone among them to become a group leader, Secretary and treasurer that they belie ve that they can become to gr oup rep resent ati ves dir ect ing the ir gr oup and to eas ily col laborate with SSF and other stakeholders. Thi s gr oup members will be elected the ir rep resent ativ es next week whe n the y wil l meet together again to collect the investment capital as appointment deadline. Please we back to review something that happened before this group was formed with ser ious working by SSF in attempting services supports to them. People in this village, they were no longer beli ev able to ot her services supported fr om so ci al organizations because they said that "they used to cheat by some NGOs tha t the y access ed int o this vi llag e and asked them to invest likes SHG but after they gathered money from them, they took the collected money into their personal pocket money". They ' Now People do SSF would like to share you an amazing success story that we got from a community in our target area that we mobilize people in this village from doing nothing on the land to green field at the moment. 10 poor families among the household in this village change their habit and follow to a demo farmer we trained and advised. SSF delights to see this happen in their village. SSF never thought that a little support from us given them positively impact to their livelihoods. Please we go back to see what happen within this community,  Tonlab is the name of a village located in Skus commune, Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province. Villagers in this village, they did not habit to plan or grow their crops in dry season or when their land is free from rice transplantation. Only a season a year, they transplant their rice crop and wait to harvest. Late 2006, SSF accessed into this village and began to support a poorest family sending their three underage girls that parents attempted to seek job as garment factory for to school and then a select another family to be a demo famer, plant morning glory by usi ng non chemi cal fer til izer . Vi llager s over the re, don 't believe to what we did and they gave value less to us by saying that "Now is a chemical fertilizer era, most people they use why  you are crazy to return back" and "Why do you need to plant vegetable likes morning glory? It is cheap price [on market] it will not balance to the labour and capital you invest?”   Yes, In fact, They told us the correct answer if we plant morning glory like what they habit to do, planting one ridge or row and waiting to harvest and then continue to plan another one but what SSF and demo farmer do is creati ng a Morning Gl or Planting Business for a family that they at least grow 10-20 ridges per month and they have to harvest them from 25-50

People in Daun Art village formed a Self Help Group

20 housewives of the poorest of the poor and vulnerable familiesin Kampong Speu province's Samrong Tong district's Skuscommune's Duan Art village joined together forming a Self HelpGroup in their village and invested 10000 Riel (about USD2.5)

each member, according a consultative meeting facilitated by SSFstaff on February 10, 2008.
