ABOUTUS
ABOUTUS
Dear Richard,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and showcase what Sign Specialists are able to offer with a view to potentially providing you with a signage service in the future.
Much of our ongoing work stems from long standing relationships with our clients with a mutual trust having developed over the years that has them returning to us to provide a service time and again (even if they have carried out due diligence and instigated tender processes to check pricing and ability) For example:
Jaguar Land Rover – 30 years Suzuki - 24 Years Lloyds Pharmacy – 20+ years Home Retail Group - 15+ Years Whitbread – 10+ years KIA - 8 Years+ Santander - 5+ Years
Sign Specialists was established in 1947 and continues to run as a successful family business spanning three generations.
Dedicated to quality, reliability and total customer satisfaction, Sign Specialists provides exciting products and solutions to all customers. We have made signs for three generations and our reputation signifies our strength and durability.
We are one of the UK's largest sign manufacturer and continually research and develop new techniques and working practices. We began business supplying to the pub trade but over many years have diversified into all market sectors including automotive.
We have a great team of specialist buyers, fitters, fabricators, designers, sign writers, and project managers. But our focus does not stop there, we recognise that we have to understand our customers needs and for this we have developed four specialist project divisions. Automotive,Hotel and Leisure, Pubs and Restaurants and Retail. Each division is made up of specialised individuals and teams with extensive experience and skills.
Due to our high levels of service and dedication to our clients, we have retained, developed and evolved our relationship with each brand to provide initial advice and maintaining an ongoing consultative approach to identify alternative methods and changes in specification that you might wish to make to update and improve your brand image.
Sign Specialists are able to oversee and manage full roll out programmes over a short term and also ongoing works in the form of bespoke works or having won a tender for a contracted period of time working alongside main contractors, shop fitters and designers as and when required. We would also assist in any signage design requirements and recommend/propose new approaches, materials and production methods which might prove more economical to you.
We will agree on Key Performance Indexes so that we can be measured on an ongoing basis to ensure that we maintain consistent service levels and maximise your satisfaction in our project management.
It is the goal of Sign Specialists Limited to manufacture signage products which fully meet our customer’s requirements. Customer satisfaction and continual improvement ensures the continuity
and prosperity of our company and thus is a measure of our success. It is therefore company policy to establish and maintain an effective Quality Management System, in accordance with the
ISO 9001International Quality System Standard, which is reflective of the needs of the business and those of our customers.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT STRUCTUREPROJECT MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE
Our approach to our clients is simple but effective – you will be given a dedicated team of experts who will see a project through from beginning to end.
Typically an Account Director would be appointed to oversee all works and ensure that the financial side of the contract is kept in check and act as the main interface between us and you.
A Project Manager would work with them on the day to day elements such as organising quotes, surveys, drawings, planning applications, health & safety aspects, manufacture, installation and final invoicing. It would be their responsibility to ensure that timelines are met and act as the main point of contact between Sign Specialists and any likely appointed site main contractor(or work solo as necessary) They would be supported by a team of administrative staff, the Installation Manager and Works Director who would ensure that all items for manufacture are produced using the correct specification and are ready for installation on time.
All project management, production and logistics elements are carried out in house so consistency and quality are maintained.
The account management chart (left) outlines individual & department involvement and resource. Essentially – once expectations are identified, all of the worries and stress of ensuring that a site is branded is taken away from the you at every stage of the process – we do what is necessary to bring a project to completion to your satisfaction. Time differences and geography would have no impact on our capability to deliver a premium service.

OUR AUTOMOTIVE CLIENTSOUR AUTOMOTIVE CLIENTSWe are the UK’s #1 automotive sign manufacturer and are dedicated to the continual research and development of new manufacturing techniques and working practices for our automotive customers, Suzuki, KIA Motors, Jaguar & Land Rover. Our team pride themselves on being able to produce the most dynamic and cost effective signage solutions.
JAGUAR - 1986 - 2016 (Present) LAND ROVER - 1986 - 2016 (Present) CITREON - 2011 - 2013 LOTUS - 2013
MASERATI - 2012 - 2013 SUZUKI - 1992 - 2016 (Present) FERRARI - 2012 - 2013 KIA MOTORS - 2008 - 2016 (Present)
KIA MOTORS LTDWith sites based across the UK, KIA Motors Ltd is one of the largest car manufactures in the
world. Back in 2009, we were honoured to be awarded with a contract that saw us assist
Kia Motors with their UK signage scheme and, commence roll out of the new style signage
in September of that year. Since then, we have independently rebranded every KIA Showroom
in the UK.
CASE STUDYOne project in particular, Beadles Coulsdon, was a high profile, prestigious development by KIA
Motors Ltd. It is the largest showroom development so far attempted, with strict planning
restrictions complicating installation procedures. A high temperature procedure which involved
fusing ceramic inks with architectural glass, a method of construction that presented us
with complex issues.
Eventually after several weeks of intense activity an agreed solution was found. The glazing
contractors would provide brackets through the silicone glazing joints in locations specified by
Sign Specialists Ltd, we would then provide appropriate & corresponding fixing angles on the
rear of the signs.
With regards to installation, timing would be crucial, we could not use high level access
equipment once the tarmac surrounding had been laid as it would not bear the weight of an
all-terrain scissor lift. In fact, our installation window was only 2 weeks following installation of
the glazing brackets, after that the tarmac forecourt would be laid and our access equipment
would be too heavy. In addition to this, the high level signs and the free standing/low level
elements could not be installed in one visit. The low level elements would have to be installed
just prior to the site handover.
Both phases were successfully completed on time and according to specification. Our Client
KIA Motors Ltd is extremely happy with the result as are the site operators Beadles.
Consequently this project can be considered a major success due to a great team effort by
Sign Specialists Ltd.

THE PROCESS
SurveyEach KIA Motors site is attended prior to the manufacturing process and exact dimensions are
taken to ensure that each and every sign fits perfectly. We also evaluate external factors to
guarantee access to site is 100% achievable, and if not, ways in which access can be granted
are put in place.
Scheme DrawingsBased on surveyors documents our drawing office will produce a compilation of scheme
drawings and fill in all of the necessary paperwork for submission to the authorities.
PlanningWe also provide KIA Motors with a full and comprehensive planning stage service which
removes the hassle of the initial contact and the on-going liaison with local authorities
ensuring that signage can be installed.
ManufactureWithin our fully integrated 31,000 sq foot manufacturing facility we produce all KIA Motors
UK signage alongside Jaguar, Landrover and Suzuki making us the #1 supplier of automotive
signage in the UK.
InstallationWe provide KIA Motors with UK wide coverage and have directly employed installation
engineers as well as access to a large number of sub-contract engineers whose services
can be called upon.
MaintenanceAs part of an overall signage supply package, we provide a maintenance service which covers
all aspects of signage upkeep from simple annual cleaning to re-lamping of illumination
where necessary.
ClarityIn working with KIA on their roll-out programme, we were able to sit down and discuss
various options and import all pricing elements into our bespoke management software
‘Clarity’. This would ensure successful implementation and consistency across all projects.
SUZUKI G.B PLCFor more than 24 years Sign Specialists Ltd has worked side by side with Suzuki G.B PLC
on the development of their car showroom signage. During this time, we have designed,
manufactured & installed signage at over 150 sites across the UK.
CASE STUDYThe C&M McDonald dealership, based in Scotland is possibly our best Suzuki installation to date.
The initial stages of installation required an extensive survey of the showroom in order to
fully understand the possibilities; detailed drawings of the site were then produced so that
concepts could be created. Based on our design drawings, Suzuki were able to see exactly
how their signage would look once installed.
Once approved by Suzuki, we began the manufacturing process which involved the
creation of fifteen individual signs, both internal and external. Unlike most Suzuki
projects, where signage is fitted to a flat fascia’s, C&M McDonalds’ are curved meaning
individual letters had to be crafted. As a result, three sets of built up LED letters
representing the Suzuki logo were created along with 3 sets of C & M McDonald letters –
all would then be securely fitted, to the showrooms fascia’s.
Following on from this we created the showrooms centre piece; a 3.9m x 3.5m free-standing
entrance statement . Crafted from aluminium, it houses an internally lit Suzuki logo along
with high quality acrylic plaques to display showroom opening times. In addition, we created
two further aluminium fascia panels that attached onto the showrooms’ outer brick work;
again, both internally illuminated to showcase the Suzuki logo.
As a result of the hard work put in by all involved in the project, the entire showroom was
completed on time and according to specification. Our client Suzuki Motors are extremely
pleased with the job, and this project can be considered a major success due to the great team
effort by Sign Specialists Ltd.
