PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)"In the present context, higher learning institutions

offering engineering programme in India have evolvedinto adopting an outcome based education. Theperformance of any programme is evaluated based onthe outcome of the graduates rather than outputs.The Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)formulated for the civil engineering programme arelisted below; "

"Graduates of Civil Engineering Programme after a fewyears of Graduation will acquire their ability to:”

1. Fundamental Knowledge: Graduates will be able toanalyze, design and propose a feasible solution to civilengineering problems by applying basic principles ofmathematics, science and engineering.

2. Specialization and Design Skills: Graduates will beinculcated with necessary professional skills, effectiveoral and written communication to be productiveengineers.

3. Professional Skills: Graduates will be able to work as ateam in intra and interdisciplinary endeavors fordevelopment of new ideas and products to serve incontemporary societal contexts.

4. Lifelong Learning: Graduates of the programme will beprepared to continue their professional developmentbased on their awareness of professional societyactivities, and opportunities for further education.


PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POS) - B.E Civil EngineeringEngineering Expertise: Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of

mathematics, science and engineeringPerspicuous Comprehension: Graduates will demonstrate their ability

to identify, formulate and solve complex Civil Engineeringproblems.

Create / Design/ Development of solutions: An ability to design asystem, component, or process to meet desired needs withinrealistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social,political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, andsustainability.

Inquisition on complex problems: Use research-based knowledge andresearch methods including design of experiments, analysis andunderstanding of data, and combination of the information toprovide valid conclusions

Digital tools Utilization: Graduates will apply skills to use currentsoftware packages and present technically advanced equipments ineach sector to analyze problems.

Engineer and Civilization: Apply reasoning, informed by the contextualknowledge, to assess societal, health, safety, legal and culturalissues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to theprofessional Civil engineering practice.

Entourage and Viable: Understand the impact of the professionalengineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, anddemonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainabledevelopment.

Competent Morality: Graduates will demonstrate knowledge ofprofessional and ethical responsibilities

Programme Specific Outcomes(PSO) for B.E Civil Engineering

Graduating Students of B.E. CivilEngineering programme will be able to:

PSO 1: Investigate, analyze and plansubstructures and superstructures in aconstruction project and also be able toprepare laboratory test reports andestimate of quantities.

PSO 2: Assess water quality, effectivelymanage solid waste, apply advancedsurveying techniques and manageutilization of resources in civilengineering infrastructure projects.
