SOUNDGUARDSOUNDGUARD ®
MARINE RANGE SUMMARY
SORBERFLEX® Composite Sandwich - Decoupled Flexible Noise Barrierwith Absorptive Foam Facing
Sorberfl ex® is a composite sandwich material comprising of a fl exible high
mass noise barrier, based on Wavebar® technology, laminated between two
layers of fl exible acoustic foam. Both the decoupling foam and absorptive
layer are composed of Soundguard’s Sorberfoam™ combustion modifi ed,
polyether polyurethane foam that provides excellent hydrolysis resistance.
This foam is especially suited for use in wet and humid areas, such as boats
or tropical environments.
The construction of Sorberfl ex® increases overall transmission loss through
the use of the decoupled barrier and provides a high degree of sound
absorption thereby reducing reverberant noise levels.

SILENTSTEP® PREMIUMDecoupled Flexible Noise Barrier with Abrasion Resistant Facing
Silentstep® Premium is an inexpensive high
performance acoustic carpet underlay that
offers excellent support for all types of carpet and provides signifi cant
reduction in transfer of air-borne and impact noise between fl oors, when
laid on most types of fl ooring. It performs especially well on lightweight
fl ooring materials such as timber, fi breglass and composite panel materials.
Easy to cut and lay, Silentstep® Premium uses a decoupled mass barrier
approach and is composed of a fl exible, high mass (8kg/m2) noise barrier,
based on Wavebar® technology, laminated to a layer of high performance
10mm thick, decoupling foam.
This product is especially suited for use in wet and humid areas, such as boats

SUBDUE®
Damped Airborne Noise Barrier
Subdue® is an easily installed, damped, airborne
transmission loss barrier engineered for quality
construction of fl oated interiors in marine
applications. For areas where high noise reduction
measures are required, the range of Subdue®
products provide unique benefi ts for the boat
builder and boat owner.
Subdue® is a specialty product consisting of unique cores laminated between
two layers of appropriate grades of marine plywood. Due to the light weight
and stiffness of standard marine ply, airborne sound is easily transferred
through partitions and soles. Standard ply also vibrates signifi cantly from
the transfer of structure-borne energy. Being fully damped, with improved
transmission loss properties, Subdue® provides a signifi cantly lower noise
and vibration levels throughout the interior of the vessel. When used in
conjunction with Sylomer® (an elastic vibration isolation material), a fully
fl oating (isolated) interior is achieved, further enhancing the comfort for
owners & guests.

SOUNDSTEEL® MPM Constrained layer steel/plastic/steel sandwich laminate
Soundsteel® MPM is a fully damped steel composite comprising two layers
of steel laminated together using a layer of a viscoelastic, thermoplastic to
form the laminate. Using the “constrained layer” principle, the function of
the thermoplastic interlayer is to damp disturbing structure borne sound.
Soundsteel® MPM is free from resonance and coincidence phenomena which
often detract from the performance of other acoustic insulation materials.
Using electrogalvanised, cold-rolled, low carbon steel allows the laminate to
be used as a structural material in equipment construction. Soundsteel® can
be used as a structural acoustic material in walls, doors, chutes, enclosures
and hoods. Because of the steel base material, Soundsteel® MPM can be
used in severe environments which other materials cannot withstand.

SYLOMER® Vibration Isolation
Sylomer® – the special PUR-Elastomer by
Getzner – is used in its cellular or compact
form for many applications in civil engineering
and machinery. In most of them, Sylomer® is
used as an elastic interlayer like a spring. The
characteristics of this spring can be adapted to
the need of application and of the construction, or the construction method by
selecting the Sylomer® –type, the thickness and the loaded surface area.
The fi ne cellular structure allows for the necessary defl ection when loaded
statically or dynamically, so that elastic bearings with full surface contact and
low power transmission density become possible. This is a big advantage in
construction, design and economy, especially in civil engineering.
APPLICATIONS
Elastic foundation and strip bearings for vibration insulation for tools, •
machinery, boilers etc
Elastic mounting elements for insulating motors, gear units, pressure lines•
Highly elastic seals for housing doors, hydraulic cylinders•

SORBERFOAM™ ALRReinforced Aluminium Faced Acoustic Foam
Sorberfoam™ ALR is a reinforced, aluminium foil faced, acoustic foam with
low fl ammability and smoke emission. The aluminium facing is more fl exible
than thicker, non-reinforced foils. The thin aluminium foil provides a fl ame
resistant, light and heat refl ective facing which protects the foam from the
ingress of dust, oil and other contaminants. The reinforcing scrim provides
strength and tear resistance to the foil.
The acoustic foam layer provides high sound absorption and thermal
insulation and has excellent performance in the critical mid-frequency
region. The foam is hydrolysis resistant so it is particularly well suited for
use in marine, industrial and tropical environments.
