Everyone loves making snowmen/women. Here's how to make a snowman that will be the envy of your block. Before you start, plan where you want the snowperson to go, and how big you want it to be.

1.

A friendly companion for your front yard

Find a nice big patch of snow which you can use to make big snowballs with. Snow which is very icy or very fluffy will probably not work very well.

Gather a handful of snow and pack it tightly with your two hands, shaping it into a ball. Place the ball on the ground and roll the ball along your snowy patch. As you roll, the ball will pick up more snow and will grow larger and larger as the snow from the ground sticks to it.

Make one very large snowball. A height of 1 foot to three feet or more is recommended.


Make another snowball a little bit smaller.

Make another snowball which is smaller still. This will be the head.

Stack snowballs up from largest to smallest, being careful to pack tightly and balance them so they won't fall down.

Place a carrot in the middle of the head to act as a nose.

Use buttons or pebbles and place them above the carrots to represent the eyes.

Use a row of pebbles or coal to show a smile beneath the carrot nose.

Top off the snowman with a hat and place a scarf around its neck.

You may be able to add some arms if the snow is easy to work with.

Take a picture fast, before it starts to warm up outside.

Choose your location carefully so that your final snow man does not block your driveway or your door.

1. Draw a medium sized ball. Draw on top of this, a slightly smaller ball than the one you just drew.

2. Draw another ball on top of those that is slightly smaller than the rest. You can use more than three balls, just make sure the one you put on top of the others needs to be slightly smaller than the one before.

3. Draw some dots (buttons) down the bottom two circles.

4. Draw a hat that looks like a top hat for your snowman’s head.

5. Draw a scarf to go around its neck, which is the bottom part of the top circle.

6. Add two eyes a pointy nose and a mouth to its head.

7. Draw two stick arms coming out of the middle circle.

8. Draw the snowman holding a broom in one of its stick hands. Now you’re done.

Try to find something round like the bottom of a cup. You can trace around the bottom of the cup for the circles you will need for the snowman body.(But, you would need to find different sized cups, because each circle needs to be smaller than the one under it.)

1. Combine 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of salt, and 1/2 cup of water in a bowl. Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon until smooth.

2. Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and shape each into a snowman, flattening the base so it will stand up (each piece should be divided into two balls for the head and body).

3. Microwave the snowmen on a plate one or two at a time for 20- to 30-second intervals until the dough is fairly firm (about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes in total). Let the snowmen cool (they can get quite hot).

4. Use a fine-point permanent black marker to draw on eyes and a mouth.

5. For a nose, cut off the very tip of a carrot and glue it below its eyes and above its mouth.

6. Use felt or fabric to make a scarf or hat for the snowman.

Use colored fabrics or felt (preferably red or green).


When putting snowmen in the microwave, make them taller than what size you want (the snowman "melts" a little in the microwave), or lay it down on its back.

Paint to paint the snowmen for a whiter effect if desired

You can make anything out of these ingredients, not just snowmen.

STEPS

1. Get the items you will need (these are listed below)

2. Take your first bead and lay it so the hole is laying flat. Carefully put glue around the edge of it and lay the next bead on top of it. This bead should be opposite how the bottom on is (holes on the side)

3. Next, take your last white bead and put glue around the edge of it. Place it on top of the second bead, and there’s the base of your snowman!

4. Decorate your snowman with smaller beads and thread. With patience and care, your snowman can have a whole family!

TIPS

Remember, your 'snowman' won't be perfect the first time you do it. Keep on practicing and your snowman will look like it really is made out of snow!

Use thread to make clothes for your snowman, such as a scarf or a hat!

Mix glue and water and spread it onto thread to make it stiff. Bend the thread in any direction first so it will look cool!

Frosty the Snowman is a simple Christmas themed game to play.

Do you remember Frosty the Snowman?

See who can turn their friend into Frosty the Snowman the fastest. Divide the players into groups of two. Give each team a roll of toilet tissue. When you say go, the team

members have to wrap each other up from head to toe with the toilet tissue. The team that is completely wrapped first wins the game. Another possibility is to have accessories as part

of the gamer as well. Try to make sure that everyone is involved and having fun for this game. There should be a judge making sure the person is completely wrapped.

Everyone loves a Christmas prize so have plenty on hand! Make the prizes fun and memorable for all.
