DIOCESAN SERVICES FUND If you have not already offered your pledge in this year’s Diocesan Services Fund, please do so today. DSF 2019 reminds us, the Church, to NOT NEGLECT TO SHARE WHAT YOU HAVE, and through our willingness to share our blessings, benefit ministries that serve thousands and thousands of our brothers and sisters in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. With your generous support of DSF, you offer praise to God and care to the many pressing needs that cannot be addressed individually or by one parish alone. Our parish goal for 2019 is $72,000.00. With every parish family’s full participation, we will surely exceed this amount, advancing the work of the Church of our community. To give online, please visit www.archgh.orgdsf. For those of you who have already responded with a gift, please accept our sincere gratitude.

church with flowers at Easter, you may do so. Envelopes

are in the foyer of the church. We ask that you use these

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Children between the ages of 4-8 are dismissed from mass to hear the Sunday readings at their level, participate in activities that reinforce the Gospel message, and return to mass at the Preparation of the Gifts. This process is important for those younger members of our parishes to understand what God is calling them to do. The next CLOW date will be March 24th. We look forward to celebrating the Liturgy of the Word with you and your children. HAVE A WONDERFUL SPIRITUAL SPRING BREK! All volunteers are CMG Safe Haven trained. Planned Giving - Consider an IRA Charitable Rollover! If you are 70½ or older,

The IRA rollover is a great way for you to make a gift to support

our parish. IRA rollover gifts can make a huge difference. These

gifts will help sustain us in our important work to strengthen our

community.

The IRA rollover’s key provisions are:

The IRA rollover allows donors 70½ or older to

transfer up to $100,000 directly from their IRA to a

qualified 501c3 charity on an annual basis.

An IRA rollover gift is a tax-free distribution for the

donor. Qualifying individuals can make charitable

gifts using pre-tax IRA assets rather than taking a

distribution, paying income taxes and using after tax

assets to make a charitable gift.

An IRA rollover gift can be used to meet all or part of

an IRA’s annual required minimum distribution.

For more information on making an IRA Rollover contact

Michelle Thompson at 73-686-3497.

FIRST SUNDAY IN LENT

sugestiones, pensamientos, ideas, propuestas abiertas o

Dios.

vosotros. Acercaos a Dios y él se acercará a vosotros». Con la colaboración de Evangelio Dominical

UPCOMING COLLECTION The annual National Collection for the Black and Indian Missions is scheduled for this weekend, March 9 and 10, 2019.

Your support of this collection has helped open that door of faith for Native Americans and African Americans. Please give generously to the Black and Indian Mission Collection. This collection is more than your monetary support - it is an opportunity to evangelize and further the missionary cause of bringing the Gospel to our African American and Native American brothers and sisters. May God bless you for your support.

PRAYER BLANKET MINISTRY PRAYER BLANKETS ARE MADE POSSIBLE BY MANY CARING VOLUNTEERS AT ST. AMBROSE CATHOLIC CHURCH. THE BLANKETS ARE LAP SIZE, MADE WITH TWO PIECES OF MATERIAL, SEWN WITH LOVE AND PRAYERS FOR THOSE WHO RECEIVE THEM. THE PRAYER BLANKET IS A SYMBOL OF THE COMMUNITY’S FAITH-SHARING, COVERING THE INDIVIDUALS WHO USE THEM WITH PRAYER. THE BLANKETS ARE MADE BY VOLUNTEERS WHO COMMIT TO PRAYER AS THEY MAKE THEM. A PIECE OF YARN IS TIED AROUND THE BLANKET WHICH READS, “A PRAYER BLANKET TO COVER YOU, SAINT AMBROSE CHURCH.” IF YOU ARE ABLE TO SEW SOME PRAYER BLANKETS, PLEASE CALL SISTER CHARLINE 713-858-1613
