*Bringing In the Light of Christ and Opening Praise (screen) Your Love Compels Me
* Call to Worship (responsively) God and Creator of all humankind, your son Jesus Christ prayed that your church might be one even as you our God are one. May you renew our minds and rekindle your love in our hearts, so that by the power of the Spirit, we might find the Oneness that you intend for us. God, may we see in your Oneness our need for unity. God, may we see in your Three-ness our need for community. God, may we see in your creativity our need for diversity. God, may we see in Yourself our need to love each other.
*Hymn No. 327 Crown Him with Many Crowns Prayer of Approach (in unison) Almighty God, by your Holy Spirit you have made us one with your saints in heaven and on earth. Help us to see your presence burning in the hearts of others; grant that we may be united in a fellowship of love and prayer; give us the courage to pick up our cross and respond to the needs of the world; give us the stamina to follow you; to be your
hands and heart in the world; enable us to witness to your grace and mercy. We come together as one now to worship you and offer our praise, as we pray all this through the love of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen. Recognition of 2019 St. Andrew Graduates Tithes and Offerings

Sunday, June 9 Medieval illustration of the Pentecost (12th century)
One of the principal days of the Christian year is celebrated on the fiftieth day after Easter. The Greek word pentecoste means "fiftieth day." Pentecost is the day on which the Christian church commemorates the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and others assembled in Jerusalem. It marks the beginning of the Christian church and the proclamation of its message throughout the world and is often referred to as the birthday of the church. The liturgical color for Pentecost is red. Traditionally, Pentecost has been a day for baptisms. Because it was the custom in the early church for persons being baptized to wear white robes or clothing, the day also became known as Whitsunday, a contraction of white Sunday.

United Christian Ministries is an extension of the local church
community; working together to meet the basic needs of our
neighbors.
Our concentration for this month’s mission will be on Summer
Cooling Relief and Winter Warmth Items. Monetary donations
are always appreciated. Please note UCM on your envelope or
check.
Summer Cooling Relief
Each summer we encounter many within our community who
cannot afford the increased electric bills resulting from running
air conditioning. And yes, we also encounter those who do not
have air conditioning. UCM distributes box fans to these families
to provide some relief during the hot summer months. Donations
of new 20 inch box fans are accepted at UCM throughout the
summer season. Monetary donations will be accepted through St.
Andrew.
Winter Warmth Items
In an effort to keep people warm during the winter months, UCM
distributes blankets, winter hats, warm gloves, and winter coats
to persons of all ages. Your donations make this possible. We
respectfully request that blankets, hats, and gloves are new. We
will accept clean “previously owned” winter coats.
