Dear Friends,
In Luke 9:2 Jesus sent his disciples out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. One of the ways we do that as a congregation is through the City Mission Day Center. We helped launch this through our “Living Stones” campaign. Take a look at these numbers. Each number represents someone who is homeless, without many physical resources, and precious to God.
Since beginning 18 months ago, 179 people have received jobs.
In July, 6 men found jobs through the Day Center, bringing the total for this year to 59.
So far in 2013, the Day Center has served 1,772 meals to its guests.
In July, the Day Center served 51 guests. 23 of these were drop-in, an increase of 15 additional drop-ins in the last two months. The other 28 guests were staying at the Mission overnight.
Currently the Day Center has 17 regular volunteers. Many of them are from St. Andrew’s, sharing gifts of nursing, Bible Study, resume writing and conversation.
Where is Jesus sending You? Me? Us?
May we go deep with all we are,
Larry

We would like to thank our St. Andrew's family for the kindness and support shown to us the last four years and especially these last few weeks. The prayer shawls, food gifts, cards and donations are all appreciated. Special thanks to Larry and the music ministry area for preparing and executing such a beautiful service in celebration of
Clay's life and to all those involved in creating a wonderful meal for our families. We are truly grateful.
