If your child is entering first grade, this would be the me he/she should be beginning
faith forma on classes. The sacramental programs here at St. Mary’s of the Assump+on
Parish are two year programs. The First Reconcilia+on/First Communion Program begins in
first grade; teaching the basics about God’s love and God’s son, Jesus Christ, teaching some
well known prayers, and geGng the children used to the Church. It is nice to see the way a
community develops among the children and families as the year progresses. It is wonderful
to witness the growth of the children’s faith as we move through the liturgical year; begin-
ning with Advent, then on to the Christmas Season, the selfreflec+on of Lent, and the an+c-
ipa+on of Easter. Classes for the 20202021 year will begin the week of October 4
th
, you will
have the op+on of remote or in person hybrid learning (Thursday a ernoons @ 4:00
4:45PM) for your child.

such a tremendous, lifechanging influence in the lives of countless people and

bra+on of the Priesthood will, for the first +me ever, be a virtual event with
complimentary registra+on. Guests will include Cardinal Sean O'Malley and Gen-
eral Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. (former Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) with guest
appearances by ScoL Wahle, NHL star Brian Boyle, Mark Wahlberg, and the mu-

sive event informa+on, updates, and the chance to win great prizes including a private tour of the newly renovat-
ed Cathedral of the Holy Cross in the South End of Boston, a virtual live Q&A session with general Dunford, an

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHERS NEEDED!!

As always, We need teachers for the Religious Educa-
on program. If volunteering to teach or coteach is
something you think you might enjoy or feel called to
do, please reach out to Cathy Bowes @ 7819255446
or [email protected] .

It is a wonderful way to grow in faith, serve the parish,
and touch the lives of young people. What has worked
well in the past, is to coteach with another adult, this
can lessen the +me commitment for both volunteers.
Parents/Grandparents who volunteer as teachers will
receive free tuion for one child.
