Our world is marked by the rapid

convergence of innovation, creativity and

technology. The demands of our global society

will continue to evolve, as will the demands on

our children. Future leaders will be those who can

most confidently respond and adapt to change.

As St. Anne’s School of Annapolis prepares our

students to embrace these challenges, we know

that success depends on sustaining their affinity

for exploring and learning.

Annapolis is more than just a city, an address or a location

on a map. It is a way of life surrounded by history, natural beauty

and cultural and recreational opportunities. The hub of Maryland

state government and home to the United States Naval Academy,

Annapolis is also an expanding center of business and the arts.

It is a city that ignites the imagination and fuels the fires of

exploration. It is the ideal backdrop for St. Anne’s School. In a world

defined by rapid progress and global interconnection, our city’s

300-year history merges with 21st-century vision to inspire the

leaders of tomorrow.

We know that students naturally learn best

when they make connections across subjects and

when learning is meaningful to them. We have

developed a program rooted in rich topics that

allow for deep exploration. We build the skills and

cultivate the strategies we know students will need

in the 21st century by developing in each child

the drive to ask questions, to understand topics

in depth and to make connections among subject

topics. Students learn that in order to have a strong

voice in the world, they must communicate clearly

and base ideas on sound reasoning, careful research

and accurate calculation. Our approach ignites

students’ interests and helps them understand

connections among world systems as they build

the fundamental skills, problem-solving skills and

abstract-reasoning skills required for success in

the 21st century.

Our teachers are passionate about education.

They orchestrate an academic program that allows learners to

build on experiences and prepare for new and more sophisticated

topics each year. Low student-teacher ratios provide individual

attention to each child.

Our teachers are lifelong learners, and their own curiosity and

aptitude for discovery are models for their students. From a

Japan Fulbright Memorial Award winner to master teachers who

help train other educators, our faculty is committed to continual

growth. Their commitment to their vocation ultimately is dedicated

to fostering the full intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual

potential of our students.

Academic preparation alone is not sufficient for

success. Our focus on academic achievement is balanced with our

interest in the kinds of people our students are becoming.

Our students develop personal qualities that encourage them to

put the skills and knowledge they gain at St. Anne’s School to

the best use. They develop confidence, resiliency, social ease and

poise within an integrated and disciplined sense of self. They

think outside the box and they govern their lives with integrity

and compassion – all skills and qualities they need to succeed in

the 21st century.
