They are open to all who are interested in growing in knowledge of the Catholic faith, whether Catholic or not. Classes are Wednesdays, start at 7:00 PM, and run for 90 minutes. THE 62ND ANNUAL PILGRIMAGE TO THE SHRINE OF OUR LADY OF THE PRAIRIES will take place at the Carmel of Mary Monastery, Wahpeton, on Sunday August 12, starting at 2:00 PM. The day includes: guest speaker, Father Ross Laframboise, the sacrament of Reconciliation, a Rosary walk, an outdoor Mass with Bishop John Folda at 5:00 PM, and a picnic-style meal (free-will offering) to finish the day and send the pilgrims home. Pilgrims are encouraged to bring their prayer intentions for the Carmelites and any produce they wish to donate in thanksgiving. Volunteers accompany the elderly for a few hours while caretakers get a chance to rest. The commitment is approximately 10 hours a week for a year (hours can be shifted between weeks) and includes a monthly living allowance and educational stipend upon completion.
