2013 Annual Diocesan Appeal:
Solidarity in Mission
The 2013 Annual Diocesan Appeal is now underway. Many of you have received a letter
from Bishop DiLorenzo asking for your support. For those of you who did not receive a mail-
ing or have not had time to respond to it, we will conduct our In-Pew pledge process at all
Masses on October 6 . It is very important for all of us to make a gift to the 2013 Appeal.
Each gift that is contributed to the Appeal makes a real difference because the gifts of many
enable our Diocese to deliver needed ministries and services such as heating and grocery assis-
tance to families, health insurance for our retired priests and tuition for our future priests to at-
tend the seminary. For the first time, the Appeal will allow for increased ministry opportuni-
ties to our minority Catholic populations as well as grants to our smaller mission parishes. An-
other new way the Appeal helps those in need is by supporting parents who face the reality of a
baby diagnosed with an adverse prenatal diagnosis.
In addition, all parishes receive back a portion of their funds collected to be used for important
local priorities. All pledges can be paid in 10 convenient monthly installments. Please
answer Bishop DiLorenzo’s request and make a generous gift. Thank you in advance for
your support.
DON’T FORGET THE UNBORN Parishioners are reminded to join fellow pro-life Catholics each first and third Saturday at
9:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m. to pray the Rosary at the abortion mill at Boulevard and Grove in
Richmond. This is an important witness to the sanctity of human life and can often convince
a mother to preserve the life of her child. Those parishioners who have been there can
testify to the efficaciousness of their prayer. For additional information, call Patrick Latimer
at 262-7628.

MASS INTENTION REQUESTS
Envelopes are located outside the parish office door. Masses
are generally offered in the order received. A Mass stipend is a
gift for the celebrating priest and forms part of your
participation in the sacrifice. The Diocese of Richmond
suggests a stipend of $10.00 per Mass. While a stipend is not a
donation, for our convenience, please make checks payable to
St. Joseph’s. Please designate cash or check on the envelope.
Thank you.
