Year 3 will be going on a similar trip at the start of October. Comments from the children on visiting Lincolnsfields in Bushey and RAF Hendon have been extremely enthusiastic – “Fantastic”, “Amazing”. Thank you to parents who gave up time to come with the classes. Year 4 went to Lincolnsfields to experience what life was like for children in the early 1940s Pupils experienced fitting into Anderson and Morrison shelters; work in a 1940s kitchen, laundry and garden; and try toys used at that time. The children all came dressed for the part.

Euan Cook visit Our thanks to Euan for a great start to the week. We enjoyed watching his excellent video about his trip to Thailand and visit to the Elephant Sanctuary. It was an inspiration to us all. Euan kindly arranged for all the children to have a Krispy Kreme doughnut as a thank you for our fundraising for the charity. Meet the Teacher evening It was great to see so many of you at the Meet the Teacher evening. We plan to put the presentations on the website next week for future reference or if you were unable to come. Lost property – Faye O’Neill’s mother has very kindly once again washed the unnamed lost property and returned it to school. These clothes will be laid out in the Hall after school on Tuesday. Please come and claim any lost property or find a replacement. After Tuesday, these clothes will go to our second hand uniform shop. Absence Thank you for your good wishes for my impending operation. I will be away from next Wednesday. I know you will all support Miss Sheridan who will be acting Head in my absence along with senior leaders Mrs Welch, Mrs Young and Mrs Gallaher. Mrs Poyner will be teaching 5Einstein for three days to release Miss Sheridan for an additional day. PA informal gathering The PA are meeting at the Marchmont Arms next Tuesday, 7.30. All are welcome.

Have a lovely weekend Best wishes Mrs Smith Headteacher
