He helped to spread Christianity among the pagan Celtic tribes of western Britain

Dewi or David died in the sixth century Nearly five hundred years passed between

his death and the first written manuscripts recording his life

So how much is just legend? It is believed that David was a very gentle

person It is claimed that he ate mostly bread and

herbs! But he was tall and physically strong

Dewi is sometimes known, in Welsh, as 'Dewi Ddyfrwr' (David the Water Drinker)

He is said to have drunk nothing else! Sometimes he would stand up to his neck in a lake of cold water!

It is claimed that Dewi lived for over 100 years!

Perhaps it was the healthy diet and water?!
