Refugee Family Update The past week was a busy week for the Ghafoori Family and the Refugee Committee. The family is now regis-tered for most of the government required agencies and has moved from a motel into temporary housing. We were blessed by a parishioner from St. Leander’s who offered their guest house for use until we find affordable housing. Finding an affordable one-bedroom domicile is an UR-GENT need! The family continues, as do we, to be very appreciative of your generosity. If you have any ques-tions, please contact Elizabeth Eckstein at 510 364-8396.

The Sacrament of Baptism is not celebrated during Lent. Baptisms will resume on April 23.

Uniting Children with Their Mothers and Fathers in Prison

Get On The Bus is a program of the Center for Restora-tive Justice Works (CRJW), a nonprofit organization that unites children & families separated by crime and the criminal justice system. Get On The Bus was founded in 1999 by Sr. Suzanne Jabro, CSJ. This dynamic program gathers children and their caregivers or guardians from all across California and makes it possible for them to visit their respective mothers or fathers in prison on Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day. With most parents in California prisons incarcerated at facilities more than 100 miles away from their children, many families depend on Get On the Bus to keep them connected. 50% of Get On The Bus mothers and 40% of Get On The Bus fathers report that they would never see their children without Get on the Bus. Rental of buses is extremely expensive. You can make your donation to help pay for them at the parish office . Thank you!

Easter Environment In lieu of flowers, we are asking you to donate money towards the purchase of floral decorations for the Easter environment in the church. Please bring donations to the rectory no later than noon on Wednesday, April 12. Please mark your envelopes: Easter Environment For envelope users, you will find a special envelope for Easter Environment in your March envelopes.

Memoriam Please remember in your prayers Fr. Gene Wilson, C.PP.S., Casimiro Perez, and Armida Garcia who have completed their earthly journey and now live in the pres-ence of the Risen Lord.

THE CROSS We should glory in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, in whom is our salvation, life and resurrection; through whom we are saved and delivered. —Entrance Antiphon, Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper, Roman Missal
