Weekend Mass Schedule—NO RSVP REQUIRED (25% Capacity) Parish Office Summer Hours - Saturday—5:30 pm Monday—Friday Sunday—7:30 am, 9:30 am, 11:30 am 9:00 am—noon; 1:00 pm—4:00 pm Sunday—9:30 am also Live Streamed via Facebook and YouTube

Guidelines for those who choose to attend: • Wear mask – cover nose and mouth. • Sit in pews that have hand sanitizer. • Remember to keep social distancing of 6 feet apart from another household. • The clergy will give instructions for receiving Holy Communion. • If you can help disinfect pews after Mass, please remain in the church to receive instructions.

All are welcome. While we do encourage those who are considered at high-risk to stay home [persons with compromised immune systems, people who are sick, and those over the age of 65 as per specified by the CDC], we also encourage you to make your decision as to whether to attend using wisdom, prudence, and obedience.

Reconciliation—NEW SCHEDULE—Thursdays—5:30 pm-6:30 pm—in the church

• Doors to church are locked. • People will wait outside of the church and enter one at a time for each priest. • The priest will be in their confessional and the penitent will be outside the door of the confessional. • There will be a screen that divides them. • After confessing, the priest will instruct the penitent to invite the next person in.

Anointing of the Sick Holy Hour/Vespers By appointment only. Call the parish office. Thursdays—7:00 pm in the Church

Infant Baptism 1st and 3rd Sunday—outside of Mass—Parents and Godparents must attend pre-baptism classes. Contact Matt Thai at mthai@saintedward.org or call the parish office for details.

Encounter Retreat A digital retreat for adults which will explore the person of Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. It will take place from Sunday, July 26-August 1 and because it is a digital experience, the retreatant can pace the retreat however is best for them. Registration is free and will begin on July 1

Your DSF Gift s at WorkHomeless Receive Access to Christ's Love and Healing Amid Pandemic

Daily struggles continue for the homeless population that suffers from mental illness and chemical addictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizations that care for this already underserved population have created new ways to offer critical programs and services while social distancing to keep both clients and workers healthy and safe.

The mission of CHRISTUS Our Daily Bread is to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to homeless men and women in Galveston. It works in partnership with other resources in the Gulf Coast community to provide guidance and structure to help clients develop a plan of action to break the cycles of addiction and despair.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted the programs and services offered by our ministry and how we deliver them to our clients," said Angela Joseph, director of CHRISTUS Our Daily Bread. "At this time, we are unable to offer face-to-face services, such as mental health and substance abuse counseling, medical care, prescription assistance, and help with state identifications and birth certificates, but look forward to resuming once it is safe to do so. We continue to provide two meals daily, breakfast and lunch, clean clothing and other personal hygiene products, and mail services for clients."

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION14th Sunday in Ordinary Time: July 5

That, in gratitude for all that God has given us, we joyfully return a portion of His gifts to help build His kingdom of earth. “For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” - Matthew 11:30

When we think of being good stewards, we may think that God is asking too much of us when He calls us to generously share our time, talent and treasure. However, we must remember that we are not “owners” of anything, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts God has given us. All He is asking is that we give back a small portion, in gratitude, of what He has already given to us.
