Is Your Son Considering Priesthood? Parents are very important “Vocation directors” as they see priestly or religious qualities in their sons and daughters and mention it to them! If your son has even the slightest inkling of being a priest, please encourage it! If he is in 11TH grade or older, there is a visit to Conception Seminary College in Conception, Missouri in the planning. The trip will be Nov. 15-18 and is sponsored by our diocesan vocation office. Our diocese sends most of its beginning seminarians to Conception Seminary College. For more infiormation speak to Fr. Mark or Fr.Timothy.

Holy Cross Scholarship Donations Needed The Jim M. Cox Scholarship Fund is accepting donations. We have provided 3 scholarships this year. Our funds are depleted! Please see Fr.Mark for details or call 432-367-4657.

If several parishioners from SEAS have appointments , he will consider coming to Odessa for visits. Call for an appointment. His number is 432-687-4673 (www.newhopecounseling.net).

"Catholic Charities would like to say a HUGE thank you to the parishioners of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for their "Sack it Up at SEAS” food drive to benefit our pantry. We'd like to the 6th, 7th and 8th graders from St. Mary's

Catholic School for coming to volunteer and for bringing canned food for our pantry as well!! We know that we can always count on the generosity of the Odessa Catholic Community to truly live out Matthew 25! St. Elizabeth's CCD Program decided to run a food drive for us as well and we are so grateful for our little friends/students that are eager to help us out! If any other parish would like to host a canned food drive for our pantry please contact, Sara Aguilar at 432-332-1387 ext. 217. ALL SOULS TAIZÉ SERVICE

NOVEMBER 4, 6:00 p.m.

Taize is a meditative service of beautiful music and scripture that soothes the soul. At this service we remember all those who have gone before us by lighting candles. SEAS Chorale, Handbell Choir, and other instruments make this prayer service transcend beyond our everyday lives, allowing us to reflect on what words alone cannot express. To insure we have enough candles and the names of those who will be remembered, there will be cards in the foyer to sign-up.

COAT DRIVE FOR CATHOLIC CHARITIES We will collect coats for the next month. The coats can be new or gently worn. Please don’t forget the little children! There are barrels in the foyer.

Sometimes It’s Hard to

Ask for Help We are brought up to be strong, self-sufficient, independent people. We tend to think that if we ask for help,

it is a sign of weakness. However, that is not God’s plan. Galatians 6:2 says, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” If you are sad or struggling inside, don’t suffer alone. Ask for help. We have a team of Stephen Ministers who are ready to listen, care, encourage, pray, and help you through a tough time. We have male and female ministers. Your Stephen Minister is going to respect you and your privacy. They will not tell you what to do, but will listen and walk alongside to help you talk things out and work things through. Remember it will be strictly you, your Stephen Minister and God. It is God who will provide the

healing you need. To find out more about Stephen Ministry you can speak to our Stephen Leader, Elizabeth “Liz” Jimenez, 432-349-9077 or email Liz at [email protected] Our Stephen Ministers are ready to care for you!

The Catholic Student Association (CSA) The CSA at UTPB would like to invite college

students attending UTPB to a weekly Mass held Thursdays at 12:30 pm. Weekly meetings for CSA will be held on Fridays at 1 pm. Please call 432-

215-8169 or contact Anita Montez at [email protected] for the locations.

If you attend Odessa College and would be interested in forming the Catholic Student

Association at Odessa College, we are seeking 2-3 students and a faculty member to serve as

advisor. Call 432-215-8169 for more information.
