Ave Maria Lithograph Item # 102 The Ave Maria was composed in 1825 by Franz Schubert (1797-1828) when he was twenty-eight years old and filled with devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was written for voice and piano and first published in 1826 as Op 52 no 6. Schubert's "Ave Maria" is one of the most popular songs in the world, although often sung in several languages, it is also performed in instrumental versions with no words at all. The lyrics presented here are in Italian. This drawing was inspired by noted European apparitions. The artist of this work is Tim Allan Brown. Intrigued by the life and talent of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Tim arranged to etch a large musical score of Mozart’s famous and very popular quartet, “Eine kleine

Nachtmusik”, (translated, “A Little Night Music”). This beautiful score is commonly recognized by scholars of classical music, as well as the general public, because of its frequent use in musicals and theatrical production. As Tim was in the midst of drawing this musical score, many observers realized the unique quality of this print and requested to purchase his hand written compositions. Tim Allan Brown has now extended his line of art to include hand drawn compositions from many famous eighteenth century scores including Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, Schubert and featuring Gregorian Chants. All of his work is printed on parchment paper to bring out the eighteenth century appearance of musical scores and to enhance the appreciation of fine classical music. His work is on display in selected establishments throughout the Central Coast and has been featured in many local newspapers. Tim has featured his art in shows such as the annual Mozart Festival Art Show in San Luis Obispo, California, and it has been purchased from residents globally. The print is signed and numbered by Tim Brown, the artist. Print Size is 18 in. x 28 in.
