SACRAMENT REGISTRATION

If your child is entering Grade 2 or 7 in September 2015, and they wish to receive the Sacraments, please note the following dates: Sept. 16 @ 7pm, Registration for Confirmation; Sept. 23 @ 7pm, Registration for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Registration forms are available at the entrance of the church. Please Note: children attending a public school need to complete a Correspondence Program. Reg. forms are on our website under Forms.

CATECHETICAL CORRESPONDENCE COURSES

Programs are available for children from Kindergarten through to high school who are not currently receiving religious instruction. Families work through the programs at home. Call Monica at the Catechesis Office at 905-528-7988 ext. 2238 for more info.

FOOD DRIVE

The St. Francis Conference of St. Vincent de Paul Society will hold a Food Drive on the weekend of Aug. 15/16. Please bring non-perishable food donations to share with our brothers and sisters in need.

RUTHANN IS ON SABBATICAL

From Aug 17 until Nov 13 Ruthann, our pastoral associate, will be on a Sabbatical at the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, Texas. The program is called “Ministry to Ministers” and is a time for rest, reflection, theology courses and a time to spend with God. Please keep her in prayer while she is away.

Choir Practices begin again on Thurs. Sept. 11 and are 7:30-9:30pm. Come join us!

CHILDREN’S LITURGY

Our Children’s Liturgy program will begin on Sun. Sept. 13th at the 9am Mass. Children from age 3 to 8 are welcome to join us! Contact Melanie ([email protected]) or Laszlo ([email protected]) for more info. We are also in need of more leaders and assistants. Please consider helping with this important program.

LEVELS PROGRAM

Are you separated or divorced? Levels are self-help programs which offer hope and personal growth. Level 1 (Learning to Cope) will be Tuesday evenings for 11 weeks, starting Sept. 15, 7-9pm, at St. Francis Parish (fee $35). Level 3 (Enhancing Self Esteem) will be Tuesday evenings for 10 weeks, starting Sept. 22, 7-9:30pm at St. Mark’s Parish. GARAGE SALE

The Catholic Women’s League will host our Garage Sale on Sat. Sept. 26, 8am-1pm. Save your treasures and donate them at the church on Sept. 24 & 25, 6-9pm. Volunteers are needed during drop off times and the

event, contact Barbara Diemert at 519-744-8955 or [email protected]. She will return all calls and email in September. This is a great opportunity for service hours for students or Confirmation candidates.

Praying With the Sisters of St. Joseph All interested women are invited to join the Sisters of St. Joseph at the Residence at 574 Northcliffe Avenue, Hamilton on Sat. Sept. 19, 9:30am - 3pm. The theme for the day will be ‘Discernment’ led by Sister Nancy Sullivan. The day begins with Mass and there will be time for personal prayer and reflection. Lunch is included. Walking Pilgrimage to Shrine of Sorrowful
