TENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST
Generous God,
you nourish us with the words of life
and the blessing:
strengthen us to live confidently in your goodness,
facing our fears and sharing our bread;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
Suddenly they saw Jesus walking toward the boat! They were terrified, but he called out to them and told them not to be afraid.
THE PRAYERS OF THE CHURCH
PRAYERS FOR THE CHURCH
We pray for Province de L'Eglise Anglicane au Rwanda Gasabo - (Rwanda) The Rt Revd Onesphore Rwaje. We pray for Steve our Bishop and our Diocese; for Thabo our Metropolitan and the Anglican Church of Southern Africa; for Justin of Canterbury and the Anglican Communion.
PRAYER FOR THE WORLD
As we enter the month of compassion, help us Lord to be present to another’s pain, to bathe another’s wounds, hear another’s sadness, celebrate another’s success and allow the other’s story to change our own. It is in giving ourselves to what we do not understand that we receive life’s blessings and in taking care of another that we are cared for.

We are so glad you have come to join us! May this be a place of growth, grace and blessing!Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. (Deuteronomy 28:6)
UNDERSTANDING AND LEADING COMPASSIONATE LIVES
So much of Jesus' life is about healing: teaching and healing and showing people another way anchored in the love and action of God. How do we place this understanding at our centre, so it becomes the life we lead and share each day? Over the next six weeks we look what it is to live compassion, embrace healing and honour Holy becoming.
SOCIAL CONCERNS FEEDBACK
A big thank you for all your contributions. We received about 40 blankets during winter. Mark Franklin helped us to secure 20 blankets from the Rotary club. All the blankets have been given out. The weekday sandwiches are going a long way to feed the homeless in our community. Each week 300 peanut butter sandwiches are given out and later in the day there are volunteers manning the soup kitchen. For the month of June, 569 servings were dished out and for the first three weeks of July 372 soup cups were served.
