Welcome!Here we are again for the 14th year. The St. Francis Sailing Foundation continues to grow. Our “Puddles to Podium” concept has introduced more young Bay Area kids than ever to the thrill of being on the water and under sail while continuing to support young talented sailors achieve their dreams of competing at the highest levels of the sport. Tonight you will hear about our newest and most ambitious effort ever. With the combined resources of the St. Francis Sailing Foundation, Treasure Island Sailing Center, and US Sailing, we will change
the face of top level sailing in the entire country, right here in our own backyard. Meanwhile, we continue to increase our support of the ever-expanding junior sailing program here at St. Francis Yacht Club and numerous other sail-related programs throughout the Bay Area.
Although we now have an endowment that helps fuel our resources, this auction remains our single largest source of grant money by far. Please take the time to review our website. I’m confident that the more you learn about us, the more you will feel your donations are being used wisely and making an important difference. Tonight you will have the opportunity to renew friendships, meet new friends, and to make dreams come true for hundreds of fourth grade kids from Bay Area all the way to the top young athletes dedicated to representing our country in the Olympic Games in Tokyo now only two short years away. Who We SupportSt. Francis Sailing Foundation proudly serves as primary sponsor of Set Sail Learn, Treasure Island Sailing Center’s novel experiential learning program. Set Sail Learn teaches STEM lessons to San Francisco public school 4th graders by offering sailing on the bay, learning how the wind makes boats move, and learning about the bay, its inhabitants, and
how to protect them. Thousands of San Francisco public school kids have thrilled at contact with the bay and benefited from this program, with some graduating to higher level sailing programs.
Last year, your donations helped over 1,000 kids participate in this program.
Other Community Outreach programs supported by StFSF include Envision Academy Sailing Team, Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors (BAADS), Alameda Community Sailing Center, Call of the Sea, and other scholarship programs.

In order to be issued a bid number, you must swipe a credit card at check in or sign a chit with your St. Francis Yacht Club membership number. Bid numbers will be handed out during check in and can be used during the silent auction. Paddles with the same bid number will be found on the dinner tables to be used in the live auction. Participants are responsible for all purchases made with the bid number assigned to them.• All sales are “as is” and final. No exchanges or refunds will be made.• All items must be paid in full by cash, personal check, credit card or by St. Francis Yacht Club membership chit before the buyer’s departure from the event.• Unless otherwise specified or negotiated with the donor, all services and certificates are subject to availability and must be redeemed by March 19, 2019.• The St. Francis Sailing Foundation reserves the right to withdraw any items from the auction prior to the conclusion of bidding.• Each bidder assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction. Silent Auction Procedures• The silent auction begins at 5:00pm and concludes at 6:45pm.• Each silent auction item has a separate bid sheet.• To enter a bid in the silent auction, please sign your bid number and name on the appropriate bid sheet.• At the close of the silent auction, volunteer staff will determine the purchaser based on the highest bid.
Live Auction Procedures• Make your bid by raising your paddle with the number visible to the auctioneer.• The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer is the final purchaser.• In the case of a dispute, the auctioneer will have the sole discretion to determine the successful bidder. An acknowledged bid constitutes a legally binding commitment by the bidder to purchase the item or service at the acknowledged bid prices.
Auction Check-out Procedures• Auction checkout will open at 9:30pm. Please pick up your items the night of the event.
