PRAYER OF REPARATION

God and Father of Life, you have created every human per-son, and have opened the way for each to have eternal life. We live in the shadow of death. Tens of millions of your children have been killed because of the Roe vs. Wade de-cision legalizing abortion. Father, have mercy on us. Heal our land and accept our of-fering of prayer and penance. In your love for us, turn back the scourge of abortion. May each of us exult in hearts full of hope and hands full of mercy, and work together to build a culture of life. We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Is God calling you to serve His people as a Permanent Deacon?

Permanent Deacons are ordained to serve the People of God. They assist at the altar, proclaim the Gospel, preach, and preside at bap-tisms, weddings, funerals and other liturgies. They teach, counsel, administrate, visit the sick and serve the poor. The Diocese of Las Cruces has begun its recruitment of its next class of Deacons. Be-tween now and the end of May 2019 the Office of Deacon For-mation is accepting preliminary applications to the Deacon Pro-gram. The Year of Inquiry into the Diaconate will begin in August 2019. Inquirers will meet one evening a month for prayer, presen-tation and discernment. For more information contact Deacon Leo-nel Briseno with the Diocese of Las Cruces Office of Deacon For-mation at 575-523-7577, by email at [email protected] or register online at www.rcdlc.org/inquiry

ATTENTION ALL VOLUNTEERS Photo Badges for Volunteers

Our parish is working to have all volunteers and staff in compli-ance with Diocesan and Virtus policies. The Diocese is requiring all volunteers and staff to have a badge with their picture. We will be coordinating with our ministry leaders to meet this require-ment. We kindly ask our volunteers to please submit a photo of yourself with a white background. You can take the picture with a cell phone (in front of a white wall), and send the pictures to the parish email [email protected]. In the subject line, write “legal name, St. Genevieve Church, volunteer”. We will then for-ward your photo to the Diocese so that a badge can be made. Thank you for your help!

The 2019 candle is approximately $250. Your contribution is tax deductible. If you are interested in sponsoring the Paschal Candle, please contact the parish office so that your name may be entered into the drawing.
