Our Mission Statement Lord, God, all creation is yours, and you call us to serve you by caring for the gifts
that surround us. May the example of St. Isidore urge us to share our food with the hungry and to work for the salvation of mankind. We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, your son, who lives
and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen. Saint Isidore, Pray for Us.

PASCHAL CANDLE
The Paschal Candle represents Jesus Christ, the Light of the World.
Made of pure beeswax, it represents the sinless Christ who was incarnate of the Virgin Mary.
The candle has a cross and the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet (Alpha and
Omega) which symbolizes the beginning and the end of the current year.
Five grains of incense are inserted into it in the form of a cross, recalling the aromatic spices used to anoint Our Lord’s body and the five
wounds in His hands, feet and side.
This year’s Paschal Candle has been donated by Rosemary Czulada
in memory of Joseph and Jill Marie Czulada.

“Very early when the sun had risen, on the first day of the week, women came to the tomb. They were saying to one another, ‘Who will roll back the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?’ When they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled
back; it was very large…they saw a young man in a white robe sitting on the right, and they were amazed…He said to them, ‘Do not be amazed! You seek Jesus of
Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised he is not here.’”
Alleluia, Christ is risen! We greet our friends on Easter day. He is truly risen! In faith many will respond to us.
My friends, may the truth of this gospel message be truly ours this Easter day. He has risen from the dead that we might have life and have it to the fullest, here
on earth and in the new life He secured for those who believe and live in him. Rejoice! Because through His Resurrection the stones from
our tombs have been removed as well.
May the blessing of this Easter Season be upon you and your loved ones,
Rev. Robert Kuznik, Rev. Piotr Narkiewicz, Dcn. Michael Bonocore and the Staff of our Parish
„Wczesnym rankiem w pierwszy dzień tygodnia przyszły niewiasty do grobu gdy słońce wzeszło. A mówiły między sobą: ‘Kto nam odsunie kamień z grobu?’ Gdy
jednak spojrzały zauważyły, że kamień był już odsunięty, a był bardzo duży...ujrzały młodzieńca, siedzącego po prawej stronie ubranego w białą szatę:
i badzo się przestraszyły. Lecz on rzekł do nich: ‘Nie bójcie się ! Szukacie Jezusa z Nazaretu, ukrzyżowanego; powstał, nie ma Go tu.”
Alleluja, Chrystus zmartwychwstał ! Pozdrawiamy rodzinę i przyjaciół. Z wiarą wielu nam odpowie. On prawdziwie zmartwychwstał !
Niego. Radujmy się ! Bo przez Jego zmartwychwstanie kamień zostaje odsunięty i z
naszego grobu.
Niech Zmartwychstały Chrystus błogosławi wam i waszm rodzinom !

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.” While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests every-thing that had happened. When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instruct-ed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day. Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:1-20)

SAINT JOHN PAUL II REGIONAL SCHOOL
FIRST ANNUAL GOLF OUTING
THE WOODS AT CHERRY CREEK GOLF CLUB
967 REEVES AVENUE, RIVERHEAD THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 2019
St. John Paul II Regional School is pleased to announce our 1st Annual Golf Outing, Revitalizing Excellence in Catholic Education on the East End.
This year, we will be honoring Detective Brian Simonsen, who was not only a community member, but also attended one of our former schools, Our Lady of Mercy Elementary School. Detective Simonsen is a NYPD Officer who was killed in the line of duty this past February. His character exemplifies
the Christian values and morals we hope to see in our students. SJPII Regional School will be starting an Annual Scholarship Fund in his name
where one or more students with financial needs will be provided the oppor-tunity to attend school with a scholarship. A portion of the SJPII Regional
Golf Outing will be set aside for this annual scholarship.
Join us at this beautiful course on Thursday, June 13th. Check In Time is 11:30 am. This year we are featuring a Pre-Golf BBQ and full sit-down
dinner after golf. We are also featuring a 3-hour open bar with passed hors d’oeuvres. All golf packages include golf, cart, beverage cart, snack at the
return, BBQ lunch, cocktail hour and full dinner. The are many sponsorship opportunities available or just join us for dinner and avoid chasing a little
white ball around the course! There will be contests, prizes and raffles.
Generous supporters like you make the success of this event possible. Spaces are limited, so please return your registration TODAY to be
guaranteed a spot. All Tee Signs must be in by June 1st. Any questions, please call 631-727-1650 or email the golf committee at
Reprinted from March 2019 Dear Parishioners, Over the years, we all have seen our elderly parishioners, parents with little children, and the handicapped struggling to make their way to the bathrooms located all the way downstairs in the back of the Church’s basement. Today, finally, through the generosity and care of some of our parishioners, the handicapped-accessible bathroom has been built into the existing sacristy by the eastern ramp entrance to the Church. It is a blessing, it is a gift, and we all should be grateful to have such a readily available facility. I am grateful to all who responded with financial and moral support. Without you, this project would not have been possible. Thank you to Frank Stepnoski for overseeing this project from the first planning until its completion. May the Lord reward your caring hearts with all the blessings you need and with the gift of Eternity, to those who are no longer with us. God Bless and Peace, Fr. Robert
