Parish Coffees Today after the 9am Mass in the Church Hall. Today’s hosts will be Ministers to the Homebound. Thanks to last week’s hosts the
Buildings Committee.
Our hosts next week, February 5, will be the Welcoming Committee. They will also be welcoming our newest parishioners at this time. All are invited to attend this coffee and meet our new parishioners. If you are new to the Parish and would like to register, the Welcoming Committee will have
a table set up for you to do so.

On Saturday, February 11, there will be a Social Gathering after Mass in the Hurd Street entrance. Your Pastoral Council will be hosting. Please plan on attending—great food and great

Next Confirmation Class Sunday, February 5th

March 1st is Ash Wednesday.
All of our Faith Formation classes will have a prayer service and our students will receive ashes.
We have some date changes to note for March.
MIDDLE SCHOOL GRADE LITURGY (Note date change)
Sunday, March 5th there will be a Buddy Liturgy for grades 5 – 7 at the 11am Mass.
We will present the opportunity to start an Edge Program at St. James during this service.
Edge is for our 5th – 7th graders. This program coordinates monthly events that bring our kids together for social and service events that our fun and faith filled.
We would love to have a couple parents volunteer to coordinate this dynamic program.
It is a great way to strengthen faith and community for this age group.
If any parents would be interested, please feel free to contact me for further details.

“Cantare amantis est… Singing belongs to one who loves” (s. 336, 1 – PL 38, 1472) ~ St. Augustine Is your gift music? Music is a treasure and is integral to our worship at Mass. If you love to sing ~ alone or with a group ~ come and join us. No previous experience is necessary - learning and growing are a part of our journey. We meet weekly from September to June and sing at the 9am and 11am Masses on Sundays ~ as well as for Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, and any special Masses during
the year.

The Staff will be on Retreat February 2nd. The Parish Office will be closed that day. We will resume regular office hours on Friday, February 3rd.

on February 11, 2017.
2016-2017 LeMoyne College C.Y.O. Scholarship
For many years, LeMoyne and Catholic Youth
Organization have worked together to offer eight $4,000 scholarships ($1,000/year). Again this year, CYO Scholarships will be given to eight deserving students in the
Diocese of Syracuse. Students who have demonstrated leadership abilities and have
performed outstanding service to their school, community, and parish.
Students interested in attending LeMoyne will need to do the following:
♦ Complete the scholarship application listing any involvement in school and parish through which they have made a positive contribution and any community service activities such as participation in civic organizations and part-time jobs. The committee will also consider special circumstances relating to personal or family situations.
♦ Must submit an essay of at least 250 words explaining how their involvement in CYO, youth ministry program or community service activity has influenced their outlook on the future and reasons for attending LeMoyne College.
♦ Two letters of recommendation must be sent to the regional chairperson. One recommendation must be from a person associated with the applicant’s service-related activity (i.e. volunteer coordinator or youth minister). Both recommendations should focus on the applicant’s community involvement or service related activities. Recommendations from family members are not acceptable.
♦ Official high school transcripts must be sent to the regional chairperson.
DEADLINE: applications must be submitted to the regional chairperson by February 1, you can be pick one up at the Parish Office.
