April 8, 2018 - 2nd Sunday of Easter
“The community of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one
claimed that any of his possessions was his own...” – ACTS 4:32
All that we are and all that we have is a gift from
God! Think of your family, your friends, your talents,
your abilities and your money – these are all gifts
from God! We aren’t really owners of anything, we
are merely “stewards” of the gifts God has blessed us
with.

PORNOGRAPHY HURTS - Postcard Campaign
Members and our parish community are urged to speak up by lob-
bying the federal government for tougher legislation on the esca-
lating multi-billion dollar porn industry. Join the CWL in mailing
postage-free postcards to the Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau, Prime Min-
ister, Hon. Jody Raybould-Wilson, Minister of Justice and Hon.
John Barlow, MP-Highwood. Include your name, return address,
statement on porn's harmful impact and/or a question inviting a
response. Please choose from the statement and question exam-
ples below, or create your own.
The cards can be found on the table in the narthex.
STATEMENTS:
-Degrading images on porn websites can induce sexual assault, violence and bullying.
-It's absurd that an 8-year old can click an "18+" button to access porn websites.
-It's absurd that porn magazine sales are limited to 18+, yet websites are unregulated.
-It's alarming that any child with a computer or cell phone can access online porn.
-Gambling sites must verify that users are "18+" as should harmful porn websites.
-Marijuana is regulated to protect minors, as should harmful porn websites.
-Porn is abusive and degrading for voiceless victims of human trafficking.
-Porn breeds a culture of rape and abuse that often targets women and children.
-Viewing porn can lead to damaging behaviours and sexual relationships.
QUESTIONS:
-As our elected leader, how will you protect children from unrestricted online access?
-Can Canadians count on you to protect children from unrestricted online access?
-What action is the government taking to protect children from unrestricted online
access?

A little girl was sitting on her
Grandfather’s lap as he read her a bedtime
story. From time to time, she would take her eyes off the book and reach up to touch his wrinkled cheek. She was alternately stroking her own cheek, then his again. Finally she spoke up, “Grandpa, did God make you?” “Yes
sweetheart”, he answered, “God made me a long time ago.” “Oh”, she paused, “Grandpa, did God make me too?” “Yes, indeed, honey”, he said, “God made you just a little while ago.” Feeling their respective faces again, the little girl observed “God’s getting better at it, isn’t He?”
