from the Ancient to the Contemporary. We begin our rehearsals on Thursday, September 8th at 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the music room in the lower level of the school

building. All parishioners who love to sing are welcome to come join us. We sing at the 11:00 a.m. Mass every Sunday

from September to June. We are looking forward to our concert this year which will be in honor of the 100th anniversary of the church. We will be singing excerpts

from the St. Paul Oratorio by Mendelssohn. Our concert will also include our usual Christmas music as

well as the famous sing along.

St. Paul Children’s Choir will begin our rehearsals on September 15th from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. in the lower level

of the school. All children from the 2nd to the 7th grade are welcome. Come and make a joyful noise to the Lord and learn the great liturgy of the church. The Children’s choir sings at the 9:00 a.m. family Mass. Our first Sunday will be

on September 18th. The children will also be singing in the Christmas Concert.

Youth Group Next Sunday, August 28th we will meet at the same

Our Faith...Our Future Centennial Celebration!

Saint Paul Parish 1916-2016 On October 21, 1906, Father Patrick Callahan, Pastor of St. John Church, gathered the few Catholics living in the western part of Welles-ley for the first regular ser-vices of what was to be known as St. Paul Mission. For the first few years this

small group of faithful met for worship in Odd Fellows Hall on Central St. Three years later, increasing numbers compelled a move to larg-er quarters over a garage on Dana St., now Cameron Street.

YEAR OF MERCY: YEAR OF RCIA? Pope Francis dedicated this Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy to living out in our daily lives the mercy which God constantly extends to all of us. As he says, “Let us allow God to surprise us. He never tires of casting open the doors of his heart and of repeating that he loves us and wants to share his love with us.”

Are you ready to be surprised? Please consider the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. The doors of the RCIA are flung open wide for you if…

• You have been worshiping with us, but never officially took the step to become Catholic; • Have been away from the Church … and have now returned, but want to know more; • Have been a Catholic all your life, but never celebrated all of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist); • Have joined us from a different faith community and would now like to find out more about the Catholic Church; • Are seeking a deeper personal relationship with Jesus but have never been baptized.

If you answer yes to any of these situations, please consider saying yes to joining us when we begin our journey this autumn. Everyone is welcome. There will be more information forthcoming. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact Alan LaFleur and Svea Fraser at [email protected] with your questions.
