our time, talent & treasure. Stewardship - A Way of Life.

Today's readings invite us into prayer, into relationship with God. Because relationships feel more natural when we know one another well, Sirach encourages us to know God better. In his wisdom, Sirach tells us what God is like: fair, open-minded, compassionate, and attentive. "The Lord will not delay," he says. Knowing that God's help comes right on time, whenever we need it, calms our hearts and helps us trust the Lord. In his second Letter to Timothy, Saint Paul demonstrates his own trust in God. Despite the grueling struggles Saint Paul has faced because of his Christian faith, he praises the Lord for rescuing him time and again. Today's Gospel draws us close to Jesus too, revealing his special love for the poor and humble. As Jesus tells his parable about the prayer habits of a Pharisee and a tax collector, our hearts long to become as gentle as Christ's. With permission JS Paluch

Souls, which can be lit in memory of a deceased family member or

friend. Cost is $5.00 per candle and can be purchased at the

office.

Please support the Annual Collection for Catholic Charities of Central Florida which will be held October 22-23, 2016. This collection is held only once a year and donations are greatly needed to help families and individuals who are facing difficult struggles. Our goal is to minister to them through that struggle to get their feet back on the right path. Please support this important ministry and sustain the works of mercy we provide to more than 100,000 people a year who are in need.

The Rosary Ministers Invitation

In October, the Church celebrates Our Lady of the Rosary, in veneration of

Our Blessed Mother Mary.

In her honor, the Rosary Ministers will be reciting the rosary before all masses during the month of October. Also we will pray it together at 6:00 pm on Mon, Wed, Thu, and Fri, and before mass on Tue at 5:30 pm each week.

We encourage you to join us, offering your own petitions to Our Lady. Come to experience the power of the Rosary prayed together as a congregation.

Saint Jude, apostle and . . . Hollywood success story? Indeed! Beyond Simon's being a " Zealot" for Israel's liberation and Jude's question about Jesus revealing himself (John 14:22), no historic facts are known about either saint. San Judas, apóstol y . . . El éxito de Hollywood historia? De hecho! Más allá de Simón de ser " Zelota" a Israel su libe-ración y Judas’ pregunta sobre Jesús se revela a sí mismo (Juan 14:22), no los hechos históricos son conocidos acerca de Saint. Pero San Judas’ conocido el patrocinio de "causas perdidas" y "casos perdidos" es debido en gran parte a un desesperado voto hecho justo antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial por una lucha de animador, hijo de árabe-musulmana inmigrantes, Danny Thomas. Desempleados, su esposa a punto de dar a luz, Danny, asistiendo a misa, im-pulsivamente donó su último $7.00 para la colección, pro-metiendo: "San Judas, si usted me ayude a encontrar mi camino en la vida, voy a construir una ermita en su honor!" estadounidenses mayores recordar bien Danny a lo largo de su exitosa película y carrera televisiva.
