MAY 6, 2018 6TH SUNDAY OF EASTER !
St. Kateri St. Kateri CATHOLIC CHURCH !16101 Rotunda Drive!Dearborn, MI 48120!
FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK By Fr. Terry Kerner May is always a beautiful and special month for every parish. Our own
St. Kateri celebrates the beginning of May with three young men receiving
their First Holy Communion this Sunday at the 11:00 AM Mass. Our parish
congratulates Wilson Grieg, Sonny Schneider, and Sebastian Palmeri as they celebrate Eucharist in a most special way and deepen their life in Christ this
month of May. Along with the first Communicants, we well celebrate the tra-
ditional crowning of the Blessed Mother– another reason why May is special!
May, of course, marks the beginning of the annual Catholic Services
Appeal (CSA). Parishioners have always been generous and we have consist-
ently gone over our target. By now everyone should have received my letter with the donor cards. A couple of things to be reminded of: one, please re-
turn BOTH sides of the donor card, and two, make checks payable to: ST.
KATERI-CSA. Your support of this drive is important because we are hoping
to fund a couple of capital improvements around the parish this summer.
THANK YOU for your generosity. As you can see from the form below, we are looking for linguists to
help celebrate Pentecost (May 19/20) by participating in the Prayer of the
Faithful. We would love to hear from you. Let us know with the form below
or a phone call. Many thanks.
Gracias, Merci Beaucoup, Grazie, Arigato, Do jeh, daw-deh, Danke
Sehr, Klop Khun Mak Kha, and Dziękuję ci.

FAITH FORMATION by Grace Lakatos
This past Sunday, I had the opportunity to publicly acknowledge and
thank one of the young ladies in our parish for going above and beyond “just
showing up” for Mass. After opening comments from Bishop Battersby and
congratulations from Fr. Kerner and Deacon Leonard, it was one of those
“Proud DRE/Mom” moments as I placed a new crucifix necklace on Nicoleta
Uicker at the Timothy Youth Appreciation Event. Over the past few years I
have watched this young girl grow into an amazing young woman. I have al-
ways been able to count on her for a warm, loving smile and a positive dispo-
sition. Thank you, Nicoleta, for all that you do for St. Kateri and for others.
God bless and keep you always.
Also this past Wednesday, our RCIA program closed out the year with a
wonderful pot-luck dinner. Special guests included our various presenters
( Thank you, Fr. Kerner & Deacon Leonard) and our behind the scenes hospi-
tality team (Thank you Maria Caretti & Greg Lakatos). And although not
present at the dinner, a special thanks to our maintenance man, Ric LaFata,
for setting up and taking down our various equipment & hospitality tables
each week and to Mary Masley, our office manager, for the copies you made
to help me out. All of you have made my role in the parish easier and fun.
Thank you again, and God bless you.
Confirmation Preparation classes will meet next on Monday, May 7th
at 6 PM
Adult Confirmation class will meet Thursday, May 10th at 7 PM in the St.
Michael’s room.
