Memorial Easter Flowers

donation to the parish for Easter flowers. We suggest this donation be given in
memory of a deceased loved one. The names of loved ones who are being
remembered will be mentioned in the Easter bulletin.
Any donation will be accepted.
RECONCILIATION SERVICE:
As a means of preparation for our Parish Lenten Reconciliation Celebration on Tuesday night
this week (SK Worship Site at 7 pm.), everyone is invited to pray about and ponder 2 words.
The first is a word of thanks to God for a particular grace, favor, strength or gift. Our primary
reality before God is, after all, that of being blessed.
The second word is a word of sorrow for a sin, a failure or a weakness to which we have
succumbed. Our reality before God also includes our need to be forgiven.
At our Reconciliation service, each one of us will be invited to speak first your word of thanks,
and then your word of sorrow, to Fr. Michael, who will then pray the words of absolution over
you. Two words.
CWL memberships can be paid in a regular envelope with your name
and placed in the collection basket.

Lenten Taizé Retreat A retreat in the style of Taizé focuses on prayer services using short and simple sung refrains such as "Jesus Remember Me". The refrains are very easy to learn and through repetition they become prayerful and mantra like. The services are punctuated with readings and silence; they
take place on Friday evening, Saturday morning, afternoon, and evening, and on Sunday morning. The retreat finishes with Mass before lunch on Sunday. There will be a few brief inputs on the theme of LENT MOVING TO EASTER as well as optional sharing groups.
No musical training is required. Director: Fr. Erik Oland, Jesuit musician and retreat director
Date: Friday April 4, (7 pm) to Sunday April 6 (1 pm), 2014 Cost: $220.00, all inclusive Reservation: Call 705-522-3502 ext 0 or at [email protected] .
FINANCIAL PRESSURES? Each month, St. Alban’s Church in Capreol hosts the “Good Neighbour Café”. Beginning at 5pm, this is a
dinner designed for those who are currently feeling financial pressures and could use a little boost. They are for
the whole family: single mothers with children, the unemployed, and those individuals and families who are
under the grips of debt that severely limits good and healthy food consumption. We are offering full course
meals at no cost, but those who wish to may make a donation of $2 per person or $5 per family, which is
recycled into the next dinner. Invitations are not needed, but anyone who desires them, may call Valerie at 969-4318. The next dinner is on Friday, March 28th.
Meatless Soup Supper and Stations of the Cross
This year, a meatless soup supper will be offered every second Friday during Lent.
Beginning at 5:30 pm and continuing until 7:00 pm
(come any time in between)
a simple meal of homemade soup, along with a bun, will be offered.
Come and join us in a time of fellowship as we journey towards Easter, remembering that
Christ suffered, and died for us on a Friday.
Following this meal, you are invited to stay and pray the Stations of the Cross in the Church
at 7:00 pm.
These suppers are being hosted by the Catholic Women’s League of St. Kevin’s.
All events will take place at the St. Kevin’s Hall Site.
The dates are: Friday March 28, April 11.
All meals are open to everyone. There is no cost- a freewill offering will be accepted, all of
which will be given to the poor.
EIGHT YEARS OLD THIS YEAR?: If so, and if you wish to begin receiving the gift of God in Holy Communion, registration
forms for the preparation for this Sacrament (along with Reconciliation) are available from Fr. Michael following any Parish Mass. Eight years of age is normally considered the minimum age for this program, although Fr. Michael will make exceptions for various
reasons, if asked. There is no “maximum age”, of course.
Value of the month for March Honesty The virtue of honesty is speaking truth and creating trust in the minds of
others. Honesty encourages sincerity transforming our actions.
