Curso sobre Cristología

Viaje a Polonia y algunas capitales Europeas

El Padre Nicholas Bajo Santo acaba de regresar a San Marce-lino. Tiene en sus planes hacer un viaje a Polonia y algunas ciudades Europeas del 15—30 de mayo, 2020. El costo total con todo incluido será de $3,795.00 por persona en un grupo para 25 personas. Para reservar su lugar necesita hacer un deposito de $1265 esta semana y liquidar la cantidad total para el 10 de Abril. Los Sacramentos En el Bautismo se nos dio una vela como símbolo de que ya vivimos en la luz de Jesús y somos con Él luz para el mundo, es decir, para dar a conocer a Jesús a otros por medio de nuestras buenas obras.

The Sacraments In Baptism we are given a candle, which symbolizes the fact that we already live in the light of Jesus. With Jesus, we are light for the world and make Jesus known through the good works we do out of love for him.

salt? What does salt do for your food? How does your food taste without salt? What should Jesus’ friends do to give flavor to the world? Does being light mean have lots of success?

♦ Our lights shine—or rather, we receive light from God—when we do the good works that please God, such as sharing our food, home, and clothes and extending our help.

♦ God doesn’t need for people to be rich or powerful for his pres-ence to be known. We only need to allow God to work through our words and actions.

♦ Salt gives taste to food, but is not seen: our salt is in the small things we do for each other daily. Our light is not mere success, but the kindness that illuminates others. The good works we share become light tor others.

we extended to others? What are our communities like? 5. What our faith teaches us: Where Christians are present there shouldn't be any darkness, or jeal-ousy. We Are Light When We Do Good Works ♦ Somos Luz Cuando Hacemos El Bien

EL LLAMADO DE DIOS La persona que ha sido “salvada” y que ha “oído la buena noticia de salvación” sigue viviendo en un mundo que no ha sido salvado, un mundo tristemente inconscien-te de la presencia de Dios. Las lecturas de hoy bosquejan cómo el discípulo se hace presente al mundo. Ese perfil se inicia con Isaías: “Comparte tu pan con el hambriento. . . abre tu casa al pobre sin techo. . . viste al desnudo” (Isaías 58:7). Los que escuchan la pala-bra de salvación no son insensibles a las urgentes necesi-dades de los demás. Pablo le recuerda a su rebaño que él le trajo a Cristo no con elocuencia o sabiduría, sino que

permaneció con ellos “débil y temblando de miedo” en medio de su trabajo diario (1 Corintios 2:3). Finalmente, Jesús dice a sus discípulos que vayan a la desesperanza y oscuridad de las ca-lles del mundo y dejen que la luz de Dios brille a través de sus obras buenas. Los discípulos no salvan el mundo. Sin embargo, si noso-tros hemos escuchado la Palabra de Dios y hemos empezado a discernir su presencia, podemos proclamar esa Palabra y traer esa presencia a los demás.

GOD’S CALL The person who has been “saved,” who has “heard the good news of salvation,” still lives in an unsaved world, a world sadly oblivious to the pres-ence of God. Today’s readings outline how the dis-ciple is present in the world. The outline begins with Isaiah: “Share your bread . . . shelter the oppressed . . . clothe the naked” (Isaiah 58:7). Those who hear the word of salvation are not insensitive to the urgent needs of others. Then Paul reminds his flock that he brought Christ to them not in eloquence or wisdom, but by being with them in the “weakness and fear” of their daily lives (1 Corinthians 2:3). Finally, Jesus tells his disciples to go out into the gloom and darkness of the streets of the world and let God’s light shine through their good deeds. We disciples don’t save the world. To the extent, however, that we have heard the word of God and been awakened to God’s presence, we may spread that word and bring that pres-ence to others.

Did You Know? Learn how to help children suffering from trauma

With mass shootings, natural disasters, and the social climate, our children are living in a world that can be very scary at times. Children who have suffered from trauma from abuse, loss, or another tragedy, may have different way of viewing through the distorted lens of their fears and worries, and often need the help of trusted adults to guide them through their emotions. Many children use denial as their first coping method, so get-ting them to talk about what has happened an explore how they’re feeling and what scares them now is important. Consid-er consulting someone with expertise in child development—a psychologist, counselor or experienced teacher might have suggestions as to how best support a child in the aftermath of a frightening experience.

¿Sabia Usted? Aprende a ayudar a los niños que sufren de traumas

Con los tiroteos de masa, los desastres naturales y el clima socia de hoy, nuestros niños viven en un mundo que a veces puede ser aterrador. Los niños que han sufrido trauma, abuso, perdida u otra tragedia, pueden tener diferentes formas de ver al mundo a través de la distorsionada realidad de sus temores y preocupaciones. Together in Mission

Many of you have already received mail from the Together in Mission office inviting you to renew you pledge to help most needy parishes and schools.

Today, Archbishop Gomez invites every Catholic to make their commitment to Together in Mission. Our parish has been asked to raise $17,783.00 for our “2020 PARISH GOAL . Last year, “PARISH DONORS” helped us raise $16,673.36.

This year’s theme “Our Story is Alive” reminds us that our gifts to Together in Mission are an active demonstration of our faith and love for those in our Archdiocese who need our sup-port. Please make a pledge with the information that was mailed to your home, a pledge card found with the parish, or online at ourmissionla.org/give.
