Dear Friends in Christ,
As the year prepares to end, allow me to wish you and yours a most holy New Year. We
might look back and recall many blessings from the Lord: perhaps you were married; you received a baby or
graduated from school. Above all, the Lord offered blessings that called us all to grow in holiness. It is now
a new year. We will hear much of resolutions. Hopefully, they will not merely be to lose weight or give up
a bad habit. (Good ideas to be sure). Let us make spiritual resolutions that lead us closer to the Lord Jesus.
Would it not be wonderful to attend Holy Mass without fail every Sunday or even daily? The doors of Our
Lady of Guadalupe Chapel are open every day where our Eucharistic Lord awaits to converse with us. The
Rosary prayed daily would bring many graces. Above all, really attempting to live the Gospel with more
intention and perseverance would be a blessing. Somehow, we need to change, not only on the outside but
within the deepest recesses of our soul. May the Lord bless you as you begin 2014! Lord, bring us all closer
to Your Sacred Heart!
In Christ,
Father Szolack
Family Prayer Crucifix for Vocations
Every Sunday at 10 AM Mass, we will see a
family receive a Crucifix to take home for the week to
pray for vocations to the Holy Priesthood and Reli-
gious Life. It is contained in a beautiful handcrafted box
which also serves as a stand for the Crucifix. Prayers to
be used by the host family are on a laminated program
in the box. Every weekend the host family will return
the Crucifix in procession. A new host family will re-
ceive it at the end of Mass. Sister Vilma is the crucifix
for vocations coordinator. Let us pray for holy vocations
to religious life from our parish. If you are praying over
a possible calling, please speak to Father Szolack.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!
God bless our men and women who
put their lives on the line to preserve freedom around
the world. We thank God for our good fortune to be
citizens of the USA. We continue to pray for our men
and women overseas especially, Justin Gousha, Ray-
mond Henry, Shawn Jarrell, Becky & Nick Johnson,
Brian Simmons, Rob Solome, Sarah Turse, Michael
Ekimogolu, Chris Fusco, Charity Winkler, Brian
Schwartz, and Josh Little. If someone has returned
home, we ask that you let us know. Lord, hold our
troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they pro-
tect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless
acts they perform in our time of need. We ask this in Jesus’ name.
Amen
