CHRISTMAS GIFTS
FOR THE
AREA NURSING HOMES
At our annual Christmas parties, our
parishioners give gifts to more than
200 residents at Parkview Gardens, & more than 225
residents at Riverdale Manor. Additional gifts are
given to Christian residents at the Hebrew Home.
Your kindness makes this possible. Needed are
giftwrapped presents of anything you find suitable:
toilet articles, lap blankets, costume jewelry are
favorites for residents in the nursing homes. Hooded
sweatshirts, hats, gloves, tee shirts, perfume, body
lotions and colognes are great for Riverdale Manor
residents. Please mark the gift “man” or “woman” and
indicate what it is. We will collect gifts this
weekend.. You bring joy to so many!
ADVENT GIVING TREE AT

through December 8
th
& 9
th
. The
suggestion for a gift is on the back
of each ornament. Please take an
ornament (or two or more) and
return the gift UNWRAPPED with
the ornament attached.
All gifts are due back the weekend on December 8th &
9th. Recipients of your generosity will be:
• Rosalie Hall, which provides a home for pregnant
women and parenting teens
• Sharing Community—where we provide “Baked
Ziti” each month
• Sisters of Charity Multi Service Center – Casa
De Esperanza. .
Sharing the Gospel: Today is Christ the
King Sunday. Instead of using His power
selfishly to get whatever He wanted,
Jesus used His power to free people from
sickness, from death, and from evil. Jesus
came to tell us the Truth about God. Now
we need to listen to the Voice of Jesus
and follow His example.
Prayer: Dear God, thank You for sending
Jesus to be our loving King. Amen.
CHRISTMAS PLANTS &
DECORATIONS
Envelopes are available in the
vestibule of St. Margaret’s Church for
your contribution to the beautiful Christmas
plants & decorations. You may wish to make a
memorial donation in honor of your loved ones.
Those donations will be used to decorate the
Church at Christmas time and
beyond. The envelopes will be kept
near the Crèche during the
Christmas season.
A Reflection on Christ the King
"Hail the King of the Jews." The kingship of
Christ has always been different than the
world expected. Many of Jesus' disciples
hoped for an earthly Messiah who would
overthrow the Romans. But, as Jesus says in
today's Gospel, His kingdom is "not of this
world." And yet it is a very real kingdom.
Jesus is a very real Lord. And we are called
to invite Jesus to be King of our lives. In the
early 20th century, disillusionment with
authority of all kinds was growing.
Revolutions, atheistic thinkers, and World
War I contributed to a rejection of faith. In
1925, Pope Pius XI called the Church and the
world back to a sense of hope in Christ. He
instituted the Solemnity of Christ the
King on the last Sunday before Advent. How
is Jesus king of your life today?
