FOCUS ON TODAY’S THEME:We are to use the unique gifts and talents given to us by the Spirit to further the work and mission of the Church. We are reminded by Saint Paul in today’s second reading that we were baptized in one Spirit into the one body. The Spirit has bestowed unique gifts and talents upon each of us, and we are to use these gifts to help further the work and mission of the Church and to help build up God’s kingdom on earth. Like the Apostles, we are to boldly pro-claim our faith and use our gifts to serve others.

TODAY’S LITURGY OF THE WORD:In the first reading, filled with the Holy Spirit, the Apostles speak to the crowd. Those present hear the message in their native tongue. In the second reading, Paul explains that it is through the Holy Spirit that one can profess Jesus as Lord and receive gifts. In the Gospel, Jesus appears to the disciples. He breathes on them saying, Receive the Holy Spirit.
