THE GIFT OF GIVING! Please consider supporting Bread of Life’s expanded ministry by providing

non-perishable food items, cleaning products, and personal care items (including baby needs) for Denton’s Friends of the Family. Remember us when grocery shopping or even surveying your pantry. Your donations should be placed in the Bread of Life drop box in the Narthex of the church. Thank you for helping our neighbors in need.

Our Lay Marianist will not be meeting June, July, and August due to various conflicts with other activities in our lives. We will resume on September 6, in the RE building at St Mark as

usual. In addition, our Fall Retreat is September 29, in the RE building rooms 107-111. Fr Al, our Spiritual Director, will once again be our leader for the retreat, so please mark these dates on your calendar and plan to attend as we continue to honor and learn about our Blessed Mother and Her Son, Our Savoir, Jesus Christ. Please contact Andy Gilliard at 940-323-8693 if you have any questions or for more information about the Lay Marianist.

St. Mark Prayer Shawl Ministry will meet on Monday, June 25, at 7 pm in the RE Building Room 201. Anyone who can knit or crochet, or would like to learn, is invited to attend. Yarn and patterns are provided. For more information or to request a shawl to gift, contact Shirley at 940-206-7682 or [email protected].

We read in Matthew 25:36 “….,I was in prison and you came to visit me.” Visiting those in prison is like visiting Christ. If you're interested in joining us in re-

instating the Women's Prison Ministry to bring them hope and the love of Christ, please contact Tracy Mathews at 972-415-6443 or [email protected], no later than June 20.

You are welcome to buy a brick for yourself or for someone else, to commemorate special occasions (such as the birth of a child, baptism, first communion,

confirmation, weddings, graduations, etc.), to write a Scripture passage or to honor or remember a loved one. This is a great way to be remembered and to commemorate special occasions! We would like to fill our courtyard with the names of our parishioners and loved ones. An engraved brick costs $100. Please visit St. Mark’s webpage www.stmarkdenton.org for a Brick Paver Order Form, or stop by the parish office.

The Saint Mark Apple Tree will be in the narthex June 23 - 24. This project is sponsored by Interfaith Ministries will provide DISD children with back-to-

school essentials. Stop by before or after any Mass to pick an apple and give a student a wonderful start to the school year. This year we have been asked to provide a gift card ($50 Minimum) for each apple rather than clothes. Please place the

card & the apple in an envelope and return them to the parish office by July 15. For more information, contact Mia Price 940-566-6756 or [email protected] You can also check www.ifmdenton.org/appletree for info.

ELEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME June 16-17, 2018

Blessing of Fathers

God and Father of all creation, we come before you today with humble hearts. You are our model of a loving father. When we fail and fall short of your expectations, you are always there at the end of the day with open arms, ready to heal the cuts and scrapes of the day

and to encourage us to try again and not to give up.

We hold up these men in our midst who act in the world

as fathers to their children or models of fathers for others.

Bless them in their moments of doubt and frustration with their children. Give them warm and open hearts to forgive failures. Provide them with the words needed for encouragement and perseverance. We ask all this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Join us, the Rosary Makers on Thursday, June 21, from 7-8:30 pm in St Mark RE Room 105. If you, or someone you know, are interested in learning how to make chain or cord rosaries, already know how to make rosaries, and are interested in providing them for various ministries or missions, come to our gathering. Supplies will be provided. For more information, please email Sharon

Kohl at [email protected].
