TWENTY-EIGHTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME OCTOBER 9, 2016

From the Pastor:Three months have now passed since Bishop Campbell named me pastor of Sacred Hearts Church and sent Fr. Schmit to serve as parochial vicar both in this parish and in Sacred Hearts. So far the new arrangement has been working quite well. It has been especially helpful when emergencies happen, such as calls to visit someone who is seriously ill. I’d like to remind everyone that if someone is very sick, it’s always good to call the priest sooner rather than later. Hospitals and nursing homes do not automatically notify the parish when a Catholic arrives.

Our school advisory board is meeting once again after the summer holidays. We are pleased to see the growth in enrollment at our grade school. Recently someone who transferred her two children into St. Mary’s School this year was telling me how pleased she is that her children are learning much more than they were last year. She was also delighted with the personal communication from her children’s teachers. I think that says a lot about the wonderful spirit and dedication of our school staff.

Thank you to everyone who attend last Sunday’s concert by The Three Organists. Our next concert will be on January 8, and will feature music of Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany.

Yours in Christ, Fr. Thomas BufferPastor
